Valentines Weekend
We booked this hotel on Valentines weekend because of the great rate advertised on Expedia.com plus the location and close proximity to the Gaslamp district in downtown San Diego. The hotel is 4 blocks from the main drag (5th Ave.) Our rate was the lowest compared to other hotels right along 5th Ave. Our room had a great view toward the west so we had a photo perfect sunset at the end of our first night. The entire hotel was constructed using recycled materials, but you couldnt tell. The entire hotel has an artsy feel with contrasting color schemes which make you feel at home. We had dinner at Club Stingaree, 4 blocks down the street--good food, but a little pricey. All dinner guest are admitted into the night club which has three stories and is a great place to people watch (the go-go dancers are hot as well!) For breakfast, would recommend the Indigos restaurant downstairs. Its not on the menu, but the chef will make you a classic eggs, bacon, and toast meal--just good enough to cure a hangover from the night before!

Unique, zen hotel experience
This was unlike any hotel I have stayed at before. The lobby as well as the room was very tastefully decorated; a little on the modern side but nothing over the top. The room was fantastic from the wood floors (laminate I think) to the great bed to the amazing bathroom. This would be a the perfect hotel for a relaxing trip to downtown San Diego.

Trendy Downtown San Diego
I really liked the hotel. It is less than a year old and everything is new. The gym has a great view. You are surrounded by condos and your in a place downtown that you can access all of downtown with out being in the mess of it. It would be great if there was a baseball game because you could see the field from the roof top bar, which was very cool at night with music, drinks, a view, and fire.
