Econo Lodge- my choice for future trips to Montreal
The location is great: between 2 big streets- Sherbrook and Ontario- 20 (max. 25) minutes walk to/ from Old Port/St. Chaterine St, major shopping district, passing Chinatown and a few inexpensive souvenir shops and places to eat on St Laurent; a few subway station near by and Latin Quartier, bus terminal (10 min- we came by bus), a few museums and parks. And- quite! Staff is friendly and helpful; rooms are quite old (if they renovate the prices would not be inexpensive..so better old but affordable! Please keep the "status Quo" :-)) but clean. Breakfast, well, it is french! (coursants, try with chocolate!, butter, jam, coffee with a touch of America- juice) not english/american :-)- enough to get you going until lunch when you can find a good restaurant in Old Port :-) Definitely, when go again- will try to stay there!

Not Impressed
The impertinence of the daytime Hotel receptionist left much to be desired. He treats his costumers as if he is doing them a big favour for allowing them to stay there. First impressions are lasting. He should try a little diplomancy.
