We offer all guests upon check in if they would like to pre-authorise a card on to their room so that they can charge things to their room throughout their stay. Guests who do not take this option will need to pay as they go. Sorry for any inconvenience. As a city hotel, some of our rooms do indeed only have windows in the roof, though with location this does not really impact views. Hotel is a bit tired and in need of an update. Suites aren’t what you’d expect from a suite - more a slightly larger room - and definitely are not sound proof, despite being advertised as so.

Property is average. Disappointed that king bed was two twins pushed together. Shower glass could easily come off guide. Broken tap fitting. Reasonable selection for breakfast but scrambled eggs were cold. Poor value at 242 pounds for the night.

The staff were very nice helpful from the cleaning staff to the dining staff the receptionist couldn’t do more wonderful couple of days the only downside was the gluten free bread which was disgusting

The room was very nice and comfortable although lacked some of the amenities listed. Staff in general were very friendly and helpful aside from some slight chaos with my booking which required 3 separate conversations with reception staff to resolve (to honour what was in my booking confirmation). Pool and spa area is lovely but had to wait for some time given restrictions on number of users

Using the hotel carpark was perfect and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel itself was quiet and comfortable. We were a little disappointed with our room because there was no view, just a fire escape. Due to the room layout the TV was in such a position that it was not possible to watch it when in bed without getting a creaked neck .

We came here for a little valentines mini break and we had a great stay. There were some minor issues with the room which we almost immediately correct but the amazing staff. We were also given complimentary parking as an apology. The staff really went above and beyond. Huge thank you to elsa also.

Very comfortable 3 day stay
We had a 3 night stay. Was very nice, good location for wandering into town (about 10 mins walk). Nice little gym, didn’t end up using the spa, but that looked nice too. Room was comfortable, staff was very friendly and helpful. Had one dinner and one lunch at the hotel which was very tasty.

My first stay in this hotel, overall a nice experience, unfortunately parking was charged and there were limited hotel only spaces. The room was comfortable however the heating was inadequate, reception did however offer an additional heater which did the job. The restaurant and bar were both very good, lovely meals and great service.

Modern hotel, with great staff. The room layout was not great as you could not walk between the bed and the cupboard with the doors open. The coffee supplied for breakfast was un-drinkable.

I recently stayed at the Winchester Spa Hotel on Tuesday, 9th January, and unfortunately, my experience was far from comfortable. The primary issue was the temperature in my room - it was extremely cold. The absence of curtains and radiators only exacerbated the problem, and a noticeable draft coming through the window made the situation worse. Despite bringing this to the attention of the front-of-house staff, the solution provided – a portable heater – was inadequate. It failed to sufficiently heat the room, forcing me to resort to wearing multiple layers, a hat, and gloves just to keep warm. This significantly detracted from the overall comfort and enjoyment of my stay.

Great hotel
Lovely hotel, rooms ready on arrival slightly earlier than planned. Spa was great, staff friendly and helpful, treatments were very professional. Pool was shut for maintenance which was a shame but we were not charged for parking as a result. Convenient location for a walk into the city centre.

Poor Gym Facilities
This was booked for a spa getaway in between Christmas. They advertised a totally refurbished Spa and Gym. On arrival, we was informed that the pool was closed for scheduled maintenance. If we had know this within the cancellation period, we would have changed our booking to another hotel or date. The gym itself was tiny. One bike and two running machines. Had to wait to use the bike. Someone using the free weights so again had to wait as there is a small limited area in which to use them. Really disappointed with the Spa and gym facilities. We should have been made aware of the pool closure as this was scheduled maintenance and not a failure issue. Feel really let down. I

Great location and perfect for visiting the city. All the staff were exceptionally helpful, kind and friendly. The food was great- lots of choice at breakfast. The heating in our room wasn’t working but once we mentioned this an oil-filled radiator was delivered which sorted out the problem. A big disappointment was that the swimming pool was out of action. We chose this hotel because of this facility so it was unfortunate and frustrating not to be able to swim.

We found the room very dark . Even putting all the lamps on it was not enough light . We had to sit in the lobby to read . The tv was struggling with signal and remote needed new batteries.
