Thank you for your review.I was disappointed to hear that there was some noise from external factors during your stay. I can assure you that this is a rare occurrence, but being in the centre of the town, on occasion there can be some noise, which is obviously beyond our control. As you were in one of the original Character rooms, dating back to 1450 they are not as bright as modern rooms.Our Summer menu has just launched, sadly prior to this we were finding it increasingly difficult to source some items from the old menu, I am sorry if this left you disappointed. We would be delighted to welcome you back in the future, where I am sure you would see a difference in the experience.

We are fortunate to have a full time maintenance team working at our hotel so any snagging that is pointed out is then put forward for action, and if guests are present, a temporary fix is usually made in order to give the least amount of disruption. It is not usual for guests to find complaint with our breakfast service, so we apologise that this was the experience you had during your stay. Occasionally we do find the Reception to be very busy and we would usually add extra staff but it seems you arrived at a particularly busy time when we weren't able to add more staff. We do hope this won't stop you from returning.
