Great little gem
Perfect spot for a ladies quick get-away. 8 blocks to the "main street', quick walk to the beautiful beach, lovely pool to cool off. Easy check in with property manager. Not the Ritz but comfortable and meets all needs.

Coming Back
My husband and I used to come to the island every year. He died 5 years ago and this was my first trip back and my sister came with me (this was her first trip there). It was good to come back to the island and see that not too much has changed. I love the peace and the people there and will be back. As for the condo, the location is great!!! The furniture was uncomfortable and a little unclean. I gave the overall rating a 4 and will recommend the condo to others.

Glad you had a great time on the island and hope to see you back! This particular cottage had a brand new living room chair. We steam clean all of our furniture every other month and inspect for problem areas after every check out.

Great location and price!
This place is such a short walk to the beach! I loved being able to go back and forth from the beach to the house multiple times per day without much thought. The house wasn't fancy but had everything we needed. We rented a golf cart, bike, beach umbrella, and beach chairs and all were waiting for us when we arrived. We did not use the pool but it was clean and looked very inviting. Check in and check out was very easy. We will be back!

My wife and I enjoyed the stay and have no complaints, although we did have a slight problem with plumbing, and it was handled expediently. We would like to give a special shout-out to Laura. She is a 5-star plus as a manager.

Great Vacation Rental!!!
My husband and I brought our two teenage boys down. Great location!!! Easy check in!!! Laura and Emil were both awesome with communication! The beds were VERY comfortable and everything was just perfect! Could not have asked for more. Will definitely stay again and 100% recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced vacation rental on SGI!!!

We travel a lot and have never been so happy with our rental experience!
We travel a lot and have never been so happy with our rental experience. There is literally not one bad thing to say. Our room was adorable, so clean, organized, fully stocked, the beds were comfortable, the manager was beyond friendly and kept in contact answering every question I had. The pool was amazing and being right across the road from the beach was exactly what we were looking for! I could go on all day and if we decide to visit this island again we will be back to this location! Entire experience was 100 % delightful!

Amazing beach cottage

This rental was ok for a few nights which we did. There was sand all over the floor. The ice maker didn’t work. There was no full length mirror just a small face mirror over the bathroom sink. Kitchen utensils were warped and no spatula. However, the AC, the bed and the pool was good.

This was a difficult hosting experience, one we would not welcome back. The renter arrived and immediately complained about not having a full length mirror to view herself. The property manager spent half of a day visiting all of the local stores within a 20 mile radius and was unable to find a full length mirror for the guest for her short stay. The warped utensil and spatula were replaced once it was identified. The guest complained about sand on the floor after visiting the beach.

The property is dated but the location and proximity to the beach was good. They allow dogs so that was a plus but the DISH network did not work and getting it fixed was a problem. It was pretty pricey for what it was.

Unfortunately the DISH TV service at this cottage went out on the day of the guest's arrival. DISH was immediately contacted and the soonest available appointment confirmed. Given the remote location on a barrier island, it took a couple of days to fix the service. The Beach Bum Cottages prides itself on remaining one of the most economical friendly properties on all of St. George Island for the amenities and location that it provides.

Great location
Property was in a great location if you want the beach mostly to yourself. Some of the amenities were lacking but not enough to cause issues. Amy, the property manager, was a lot of help and returned my messages quickly. If you want a good place to stay for beach time I recommend this place.

This was our first trip to SGI. We chose this island because we could bring our golden retriever to enjoy the beach as well. We loved staying at Beach Bum cottages. The location is perfect! House was comfortable and quiet. Our golden didn't want to leave! We will be definitely back!

The location of the cottage was a perfect walk across the street to the beach. Love that I could bring my dog and bring him to the beach as well. My girls loved the pool on the property. The cottage had exactly what we needed for our stay.

Condo was great! Great beach access - just across street from boardwalk onto beach. I was concerned about common wall with other condo given my dog sometimes barks if she hears movement in an adjoining unit but these are well built with absolutely no noise from nextdoor. Well laid out and nice. Also appreciated walking level with no stairs - great for my mother who has mobility problems. Dishwasher in the unit and free laundry next to the pool! TV channel selection was best I've had in any rental on the island. Fantastic value for St George. Housekeeper went out of her way to take care of our needs. Owner very reasonable and flexible to work with. Planning to return to this rental!

We really had a great Thanksgiving on SGI staying here. The weather was perfect, people were fun & food was AWESOME at Paddy's covered dish Thanksgiving dinner. I do wish the unit had some lower mirrors, I am too short for the one in the bath!!! LOL!

Needs a little repair and clean up
The unit was just what it said it was. However, the dead spider on the shower wall, toothpaste stuck on wall next to sink and hair blob on shower curtain should have been cleaned up by cleaners. The broken pool furniture, and broken tiles in courtyard need replaced and trash around washer and dryer area removed. Our smoke alarm was chirping and the TV remote batteries also went out. Replaced the remote batteries at my expense bc the property manager brought the wrong size. Checked in 1 hour late bc the property manager lost my number. Even with all these issues it is a great location, nice sized pool, and these things could be repaird fairly cheap. Just clean it up a little and take the bed from in front of the exits in the bedroom.(in case of kitchen fire)

This renter never contacted us in regards to cleaning complaints or issues. We advise all of our guests should they find something unclean or missed by the cleaners to notify us immediately so we can return and make it right. Peak season rentals book completely for 3 months which only allow our cleaners 6 hours on turn over days. One piece of pool furniture broke during this guests stay which was promptly removed by the property manager. The washer and dryer room is cleaned weekly, if debri or trash has accumulated it would be from the guests. Occasionally smoke alarms chirp from batteries running low and remote batteries go dead, we replace them ASAP and when we are notified. She did not want to wait for us to replace them, stating she would do it herself. This guest and all guests are given specific check in instructions. Unfortunately she was unable to follow them. Overall, this was a very challenging visit, one that I would recommend find other accommodations in the future.

The property has 2 sets of washers and dryers for guests to utilize during their stay. This is listed on the website and the rental agreement. The washer and dryer room is easily located next to the pool.

Perfect Mother-Daughter long weekend
My mother and I had a wonderful time at Beachbum cottages. Beach access right across the street was so close and made days at the beach easy to enjoy. An afternoon dip in the pool was refreshing - the best of both worlds. Great location - convenient to the beach as well as the center of the island. We truly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. Thanks for everything Emil!

Great Place for a small family!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach Bum Cottages. The beach access couldn't be any closer unless you were staying on the beach. Although we did not take advantage of the kitchen it was stocked with dishes, cooking accessories and utensils. We spent a lot of time in the pool and it was able to accommodate us and the adjoining cottages. Perfect place for our small family!
