Overall not the greatest experience. Extremely noisy, there was water dripping in the fridge through the night. The shower-head did not have enough pressure. The room was old, requiring renovation. Only upside was the staff who were kind and welcoming.

Nice quit downtown location. Close to lots of restaurants and bars. The Parliament Building and it's beautiful grounds are close by and the Rodgers Centre is only a few blocks away.

When we got to the property the parking lot was filthy, garbage everywhere. Upon walking from our vehicle to the front of the hotel, there were homeless individuals walking around the parking lot trying door handles of parked vehicles. We explained to the gentleman that greeted us at reception. He just looked at me and continue asking me questions pertaining to our reservation. I asked him again if my vehicle was safe and if he had cameras. He explained that he was looking at the camera and this was normal. This was not acceptable, this should have been dealt with for the safety of all the guest whom have parked cars. We will not be returning to this hotel.

i liked that there was a starbucks basically at the hotel. they easily allowed for late checkout and the hotel it’s self was very modern and clean

The location of the Matrix is fantastic as it is walkable to many great restaurants and downtown Edmonton events. However, over the last couple of years we have noticed that it is getting more and more run down, and certain "perks" are no longer available; such as the breakfast. The outside parkade and outside area around by Starbucks is very dirts, littered with cigarette butts. We also noticed that only two small pillows are provided per bed now, hard to get comfy to watch TV. In lieu of this, I do feel that the value/quality do not match.

Fantastic and I’ve slept better than I have in months. The only critique is the almost comically slow elevators which require consideration before leaving for wherever you need to be.

I like the location of this property as is close to family I visit. It's a decent hotel at typically a good price point. Its in decent condition overall. What I don't love is the price of parking and the free breakfast went to $18 tax but I think that is common with the majority of hotels that had offered this perk. Also it is not part of any loyalty program so don't build any perks or recognition no matter how much you stay there. The junior and platinum suites space is nice.
