March 17, 2010 - Unite, a union that represents a majority of British Airways Cabin Crew, has announced that they will strike. The tentative strike dates have been scheduled for two different periods of time. The first strike is scheduled to take place March 20-22, 2010, and the second strike is scheduled to take place March 27-30, 2010.
At this time, British Airways has advised that some travel between London Heathrow and the rest of the UK and Europe will be affected by the planned strike. All travel to, from or through London City Airport will be unaffected and all flights between London Gatwick and other destinations outside of Europe will remain unaffected. Flights between London Heathrow and the United States may see some impact, but British Airways has advised it is doing everything possible to limit the impact.
Further details on this strike can be found on the British Airways Website.
