March 1, 2010 - The United States Geological Survey reported an 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Chile on Saturday, February 27, 2010. Shortly after the earthquake was reported, The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a Tsunami Warning for all countries around the Pacific Rim which was later cancelled after the tsunami proved to be minor outside of local region.
In Hawaii, Hilo Airport which sits on the coast, was also shut down during the time frame that Hawaii was under a Tsunami Warning. Hilo Airport has since reopened and is operating all flights.
