Carry-on Baggage Update
By
Expedia.ca staff
The sale of liquids, gels and aerosols at all retailers, both duty free and non-duty free, located within the sterile areas of Canadian airports, is now restored for most air passengers.
Passengers will also be allowed to bring liquids, gels and aerosols through airport security screening at Canadian airports which meet the following restrictions:
- Containers must not exceed a capacity of 90 ml/ 90 grams (3 oz.);
- All containers must fit inside a clear, closed and re-sealable plastic bag with a capacity of no more than 1 litre (1 quart);
- One bag will be permitted per passenger;
- These restrictions do not apply to liquids, gels and aerosols packed in checked luggage.
Passengers may continue to bring aboard baby formula, breast milk and baby food in small containers when travelling with a baby or a small child two years of age or under. Prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger's ticket, insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines are exempt from the container size restrictions and are not required to be placed in a clear plastic bag. However, passengers must declare all such items not in a bag or over 90 ml / 90 grams (3 oz.) in capacity to screening authorities. These passengers may be subject to additional screening.
In order to minimize potential delays at the screening point, passengers must remove from their carry-on bag, the closed, re-sealable plastic bag containing all permitted liquids, gels, and aerosols and place them directly into the trays provided at the beginning of the screening process.
