I can't remember my Member ID or password. What should I do?

To receive your Member ID and password, click if you forgot your username and/or password, enter your e-mail address, and click "I need to reset my password." We will then e-mail the Member ID and password that are associated with that e-mail address.

How can I update my e-mail address on file at Expedia.ca?

Expedia.ca uses your e-mail address to send booking confirmations and scheduling updates, and to advise you of news and special offers if you subscribe to our "Bon Voyage" e-mail newsletter.

To update your e-mail address, visit us at www.expedia.ca and click "My Profile" at the top of the page. (If you're not already signed in, you may be asked to do so). Choose the "Update e-mail settings" option and enter your current e-mail address. After you have made your update, click "Accept these changes". Note that it may take up to a week for your changes to come into effect.

What is a "cookie" and what should I do about cookie warnings?

As you may know, a "cookie" is a tiny packet of information passed between your browser and a Web site like Expedia.ca. Expedia.ca uses cookies to verify your identity, and to ensure that you're properly signed in. Each time you request information from Expedia.ca, a cookie attaches itself like a name tag to your message. Accepting the cookie is like writing your name on the name tag. The cookie identifies the message as belonging to a particular user (you), so you may continue to use the site without having to sign in again. To use Expedia.ca, a user's browser must accept cookies.

To avoid receiving a warning message, or acceptance prompt, each time Expedia.ca sends a cookie to your browser, add Expedia.ca to your “Trusted Sites” list. Browsers vary, but the process is straightforward. For Internet Explorer, here's how:
  • Click Tools, then Internet Options
  • Under the Security tab, click Trusted Sites, then the Sites button
  • Under "Add this website to the zone", type: http://www.expedia.ca
  • Make sure "Require server verification" is unchecked
  • Click the Add button, then Close... and you're done!

Is my credit card number safe?

Customer transactions with Expedia.ca take full advantage of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology. SSL technology is available on most popular Web browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, and provides a high level of security through an SSL connection.

In an SSL connection, each side of the transaction has a security certificate, which your browser sends to Expedia.ca and vice versa. Your browser then encrypts your credit card number using information from both its own certificate and the Expedia.ca certificate. This action ensures that only Expedia.ca can de-crypt the data, confirm that the data came from your browser and that the message has not been tampered with in transit. This "three-way" security is how most secure transactions take place over the Internet.

At Expedia.ca, we take security and privacy seriously. Our stringent policies have earned the endorsement of the leading privacy evaluator BBB Online.

If you do not have a browser that supports secure transactions, or you are uncomfortable purchasing online, call us at 1-888-EXPEDIA (1-888-397-3342) the first time you make a purchase. Expedia.ca will then keep your credit card on file for future travel purchases.

Why does nothing happen when I sign in?

  • When you sign in to Expedia.ca, the screen may flash and return to the Sign In page. This problem may be caused by one of the following:

  • Your Member ID or password was typed incorrectly, or you've forgotten the ID or password you created for Expedia.ca. If you've forgotten either or both, click if you forgot your username and/or password to get the information you need.

  • Your Web browser does not support the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (used to create secure connections for purchasing transactions on the Web).

  • Your Expedia.ca account is not set up correctly. If you suspect your account has not been set up correctly, please complete an inquiry using the Expedia.ca Support and feedback form.

  • You may have accessed Expedia.ca by means of a bookmark, favourite or shortcut. The shortcut may be using the wrong Expedia.ca address, bypassing the Expedia.ca home page. To avoid this problem, review the properties of the old bookmark, favourite, or shortcut.

  • Your browser may not be accepting "cookies." Expedia.ca uses cookies to save you time by storing basic information on your computer every time you visit the site. Expedia.ca reads this information on your next visit and uses it to avoid repetitious entering of information. To use Expedia.ca, your computer must accept cookies. Enabling cookies in your Web browser will resolve this problem.
To avoid problems, we recommend that you use the most current version of your preferred browser.
