The Scene When the server says your pizza will be ready in 20 or 25 minutes, that's a good sign the families and students milling around this University Village pizza joint are getting darned good slices. It's also why this neat, clean little place urges patrons to call orders in ahead of their arrival.
The Food Chicago-style is the feature here. That means a sort of stuffed pizza in which fillings are slotted between two crusts and the tomato sauce goes on top. Deep-dish pizzas and thin-crust pizzas also are available. They're all baked in a 1958 Faulds rotary oven that came directly from Chicago and whose industrial beauty serves as a diversion for those who didn't heed the warning and ordered on the spot. Spinach, cheese, sausage, pesto, vegetarian and other traditional toppings ? nothing avant garde appears here, just time-tested, sensible ingredients. Soups, salads, Italian sandwiches, two pastas and apple pizza for dessert round out the fare.
