The Scene While one can complain that most of the many Northeast Minneapolis bars that line the Mississippi's banks lack a view, at least Jaros' has some atmosphere to compensate for the windowless decor. Bearing the name of a onetime basketball hero (and former owner), the narrow pub can be quite claustrophobic when the aisles are jammed with Greenie slammers. But on a recent Tuesday visit, there was plenty of room.
The Memorabilia
Proudly displayed on the walls are a collection of photographs from Jaro's NBA days, when the Lakers were based in Minneapolis, back in the late '40s and early '50s.
