The Scene How hip can you get? Way hip. Beautiful food, beautiful people and a curved bar (called Zibibbo) that flows from here to happy hour-what a wonderful world this can be, post-time clock. Plunked inside a renovated Warehouse District freight terminal minutes from Public Square, Il Circo seats a comfortable 150 plus, but avoids that sprawling urban mess hall vibe through a dazzling use of color and shape: Think the Mad Hatter's tea party with better grub.
The Food Italian food with a trippy twist. With no spaghetti and meatball comfort on the premises, the kitchen riffs Tuscan the way a jazz musician deconstructs "My Funny Valentine." A polenta tart arrives with sweet roasted peppers and a splash of pesto; Prince Edward Island mussels get a Pernod bath and -basta!--you've got brodo cozze. Raw beef tenderloin is an acquired taste, even when it's drizzled in truffle oil, so skip the carpaccio and go straight to the seahunt.
