“Very nice, modern furnishings”
A little bit of a walk from the Hauptbahnhof, but not much more than 10-15 minutes and very pleasant. My room was recently refurbished and very nice, although small by American standards. A big plus was the cheap international phone rates.
“Excellent Value, Good location and slightly quirky”
Very nice Boutique hotel, in a quiet area walking distance from the town centre and on the Tram route too. A little basic perhaps but excellent value and the staff could not be more helpful.
“Warm, friendly, knowldegeable staff in a quaint hotel”
If you're looking for a quiet hotel that's not too distant from the lively Old Town and Niederdorf spots in Zurich, this is it! The room I stayed in was good-sized and clean. I loved the simple, clean, modern design of the room. The best part of my stay is that the staff was always friendly and willing to help in any way it could. I was impressed by its timely response to my questions about the hotel prior to coming to Zurich. The hotel is easily accessible by tram or by walking from the Kunsthaus.

“Fantastic Hotel”
While this hotel was described to be a little outside the main area, it was extremely easy to get downtown - in fact a 6 minute tram ride from the main train station. It would have been roughly a 10 minute walk (note, it is uphill if you have heavy luggage). The hotel is right by the University and the neighborhood is lovely. The hotel was in great condition, the staff was very helpful and kind. The cafe/bar in the hotel lobby was busy with both guests and locals, which was nice to see. Also, great drinks! The room was spotless and had eclectic art. Price wise this hotel was significantly less than others in Zurich (an expensive city) and I really feel like I received value for money spent. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend this place to anyone for a mid-range hotel.
“Extremely good value and excellent location”
This was an extremely good value hotel with excellent service. The location was so close to the city and other conveniences and the breakfast included with the room was second to none
“Very comfortable hotel”
We stayed for 3 nights and found it to be very agreeable. It is a little out of town but 10 minutes walk or a short tram-ride finds you in the heart of Zurich. It had a very nioce feel to it and the rooms were clean and airy.

The hotel staff were very friendly and easy to communicate with in English. The Breakfast buffet was fine. An Excellent Tram Route is close to the Hotel.
“Good hotel”
Plattenhof is an excellent little hotel in a quiet residential area, however only 10 minutes' walk from the old town and financial districts. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine if a little limited. Room was very comfortable. Overall I'd certainly recommend this to anyone visiting Zurich. Very good hotel and great value.
“Excellent place to stay in Zurich”
The hotel staff was extremely friendly and spoke fluent English, the room was incredibly clean and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The hotel is within walking distance from downtown Zurich and very close to the university. We were very satisfied with this hotel.
