Quality and service was very good. Location central. They even give you earplugs in case it gets noisy downstairs - there is a nightclub. It didn't bother us though.

“Off season gem”

The rooms were clean. Breakfast (included) was delivered to your room at the time requested. We were warned that the clubs nearby made for alot of noise but the nights were cold and the partiers stayed inside - as well as our windows staying shut. The info the clerk (most spoke some English) gave us was accurate and directions clear. They gave us some decent maps. Airport transit was a good value and timely.

Centrally placed in Zurich Old Town. Rooms well laid out and clean. No breakfast facilities on site but continental breakfast deliverered to room from 7am onwards using request form left out overnight. Great value, would certainly use it again.

“Great quiet hideaway to stay at”

This hotel is a great little hideaway to be able to stay at and relax. We enjoyed everything about it, and we felt right at home...from the comfort of the room to the friendly and helpful service. The hotel is also situated in a quaint little area, surrounded by many shops and restuarants in walking distance. Has a wonderful atmosphere to take a walk through at night. And for those concerned, the hotel has no a/c in the rooms...so it gives you a chance to enjoy the night air.

“short stay in old town”

As people before me have said it is noisy, but your in the heart of the old town that others will come to see from other locations. When I was trying to book a hotel I did consider booking into the Zic Zac which turned out to be directly opposite this hotel. The service and cleaniness of this hotel are superb. We only needed a place to crash in at night after seeing the city during the day and the noise was okay by the second day. I guess we must have become used to it!

“Noisy, but good.”

The club plays very loud music between 12:00 and 04:00am, but they do issue earbuds that do the job. Great location and breakfast (room service only) was good and on-time every morning!

“Goldenes Schwert Hotel Zurich”

Friendly reception staff which proved to be helpful. The room was booked for my teenage daughter and her boyfriend on their first independent trip abroad and they were made to feel safe and welcome. When she said they wern't happy with their room they were moved to a better one with no problem and staff made sure they got to the airport ok. A fantastic first travel experience! I would recommend them highly

“Good hotel - Loud music from club downstairs”

The hotel was very good. Friendly staff, brilliant breakfast, the room was clean and maintained on a daily basis. However, I thought there were bed bugs on the sheets. The music from the club downstairs was extremely loud until the early hours. Make sure that you take earplugs with you! On a positive note, the location of the hotel is FANTASTIC! Overall I thought that it was a good place to be!

“great location-not friendly staff”

Cleaning and food cater staff were great. Room perfectly clean except for smoke smell all over. Receptionist suggested to change hotel and city if we did not like the smell. What a nerve!!! Great location since you can enjoy this beautiful city all over (near trains, lake, alps, etc...). Clubs and bars downstairs but who cares about some great music and nice people around.
