We recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When you enter , the lobby area is nice . And that’s about it. The room we stayed in was dated and the carpet was full of stains. In a 4 star hotel the standards for cleanliness should be higher. We had the most unpleasant experience for 2 days at breakfast. We walked in the restaurant and waited to be seated. The majority of tables were nicely done . The hostess had a hard time locating our name on the guests lists and when she was able to confirm we had the breakfast included in our stay she led us to a table that needed to be done. Ok, no big deal we thought. It’s the 1st day and they were not prepared for us. But unfortunately this happened again on the 2nd day. No table ready for us! We felt treated like 2nd class citizens. We are well travelled and this is by far one of the most disappointing stay we ever had. Not a single time we heard an apology.

Lovely location and great views from the pool terrace. We upgraded to a lake side suite, which was lovely. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Spa was superb, sauna, steam room and lovely pool. Breakfast buffet very good too. Was disappointed that the rooms were somewhat old fashioned. They had no air-conditing or even a fan. Bathroom was small with seperate toilet. Plastic glasses and cups, not what i would expect of a hotel of this standard.

Spectacular staff with a nice and quiet location
Overall, we loved this property and would stay here again. It is close enough to the Old Town, but far enough away to be extremely quiet and relaxing at night. The property is uphill so if you have difficulty walking or are really out of shape probably not a good location. The staff were absolutely wonderful, particularly the front desk. Extremely friendly and helpful. They have a reasonably priced bar with cold beer and good wine available. Breakfast buffet decent, but not great. They offer a limited 5-course menu daily with items changing at an unbelievably reasonable price with very reasonably priced wines. Many people understandably eat here for dinners and we thought it was a great value. Bedroom was good, although we thought it would have air conditioning which was the only complaint since it was summer. The junior suite we had was worth every penny having a nice, roomy balcony with a spectacular view. Only other negative is that the WiFi is terrible, regardless of where you are in the hotel. We basically had to turn it off just to get a web page to load.

Good quality friendly hotel
Had very good stay at hotel which is well positioned in Zell am See. Received a warm welcome and room upgraded to a junior suite which was brilliant and very comfortable. Service in the hotel was excellent. Front of house staff all wear traditional Austrian dress. It was also nice to relax in the Spa and outside pool after a day out walking the hills. Only criticism would be lack of air conditioning in the room. We slept with window and door onto balcony open to keep cool but meant we were woken early by dawn chorus! Would recommend hotel.

Great hotel in a beautiful town
The hostess was very warm and welcoming. Welcome coffee and cake was provided. The summer pass cable car tickets were included. Breakfast was buffet style with cereal, meats and cheeses. Eggs cooked to order. A short walk to the lakeside. Room was warm and comfy with a nice view. Neat and clean. Outdoor Parking was on the property. We saw a covered garage, probably for winter months, not sure how big it is.

Lovely stay at Zell am See
Stayed here for 3 nights in summer, it was lovely. The hotel has great wellness facilities and is conveniently located just a few minutes away from bus station for excursions and cable car rides. Food was delicious and we felt well taken care of.

Great hotel
Very nice and helpful staff who gave us a nice welcome with a glass of wine while we registered. Good restaurant, and walking distance to town. Room was quite large, had a nice balcony with view of mountains and lake. Parking was free, right in front of hotel.

Beautiful location, fantastic staff
We had a lovely 3 night stay here, having a front facing room with balcony overlooking town and lake - absolutely beautiful! We were greeted personally on arrival and the owner of the hotel showed us to our rooms - even parked our car for us in the garage. All the staff could not do enough for us and made our stay here very relaxing, friendly and welcoming - we definitely would like to stay here again!! Evening meal was 6 courses for 19 euros and was lovely. The hotel was right next to ski run and chair lift so you can ski right down to the hotel in winter.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Great breakfast and really friendly staff. We had a junior suite and the room was huge with plenty of storage space. The decor was traditional rather than modern but that just added to the experience. Highly recommended hotel. Excellent pool too.

I liked zell am see but the hotel was wrost thing there There are no professional work of the staff and they did not have any flexibility in the change rooms, I asked them manytimes to change my room and the hotel was empty of visitors, but they refused to do that because the hotel is full, I lived on the ground floor and it was annoying us to the presence of insects and our inability to open the windows and no air conditioning room, It was bad experience

The lady at the reception is so nice and friendly, the hotel itself is comfortable, beautifully built in the marvelous Zell Am See, the breakfast is good, the rooms are large enough. One of the best experiences.

One of the very best.
This hotel goes beyond all expectations. Excellent food, friendly welcome etc. Price included tickets for cable cars and sailing on the lake. I wish we had more time. Excellent night's sleep. Only criticism is the unconventional toilet design, where you can't wash because the bathroom sink is in a separate section. So you have to touch door handles etc before washing.

The proprietors are friendly and run an excellent operation. Zell am See is a bit crowded but this hotel is sufficiently isolated

What a fantastic hotel. Really good feel to the place. Nice room with lovely lake view. Excellent pool. Brilliant service. The team were really welcoming - made us feel very special from the moment we arrived. We'll definitely be going back.

I wish all hoterls were like this!
On arrival we were invited to rest ourv travel weary bones and partake of complimentary drinks whilst filling out the required forms, which was a nice touch. The room and facilities were excellent, every member of staff from the manager to the cleaning ladies were friendly and helpful, the breakfast and evening meals were excellent in both choice and value and the house wines were of a reasonably high standard. Even after we had booked out, our luggage was looked after until we were due to leave Zell am See later that day and we were wished a safe onward journey with some complimentary chocolates, another nice touch! We would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again.

Hotel Berner in Zel am See - a warm welcome
We enjoyed mostly the hotel staff warm welcome and attention to our requests. The room is spacious and the interior has light atmosphere. The only problem was the absence of air - conditioning system in the room or at least a fan. Overall we enjoyed our stay and liked the hotel.

Das Hotel ist geradezu perfekt, vorallem auch die tolle Lage: Ruhig und trotzdem ist das Zentrum in wenigen Schritten zu erreichen. Vorallem die sehr familiäre Atmosphäre hat uns gefallen und man wurde sogar mit Namen angesprochen, was wir bis anhin noch nie erlebten.

A very cozy hotel
Originally, I preferred a hotel right by the lake but i gave up finding that there was a railway nearby. That is why i picked this hotel and i felt I chose wisely. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood with its own parking space and a very short walk to downtown area. The room is of comfortable size and very clean; one can book a room with a lake view, too. The staff we came across are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our two night stay here and will definitely recommend this hotel.

A lovely and Warm Home From Home
Very good hotel to stay. Warm and friendly and breakfast is nice. Owner of the hotel even help unloading baggages, very enthusiastic in providing travel guidances. I might not be able to come back again, but definitely will recommend friends to stay here.

Fantastisk service og hotell
Meget meget bra. Mitt favoritthotell. Vi blir møtt med håndhilsing og velkomsdrink. Vi får fast bord i restauranten som er det samme under hele oppholdet. Om sommeren får man et kort som gir deg gratis tilgang til utrolig mange aktiviteter i nærområdet. Dette gjelder nok flere hoteller.

Fantastiskt välkomnande av Karin från Halmstad. Minisvit med utsikt över sjön var bra val. Kostnaden för garage ingick i rummets pris! Fint poolområde, lugnt och fint, men alla respekterade inte mobiltelefonförbudet!? Bra att Zell am See Kaprun Sommer Karte ingick, det sparade vi mycket pengar på, gratis resor med kabinerna och rabatt på bussresor. Detta visste vi inte om innan ankomsten!
