“An enjoyable stay”

I thoroughly enjoyed my 10 night stay at the Shilo. The facilities were great except for the pool which was uncomfortably cold apparently due to a problem with the heating system. It is nicely located with all sorts of shopping and dining outlets in walking distance.

“Overall rating”

Very convenient location. Good price for the hotel and I rate it 4.5 out of 5 for everything. The restaurant was closed which was about the only inconvenience.

“Very affordable and convenient location”

A very reasonably priced place to stay with a lovely pool and hot tub. Pool view room overlooked paths and the deck was used often. A very quiet hotel despite its size. The only disappointment was the restaurant/lounge was not in business but I understand that they are looking for a new business to take it over. The rooms could use some brightening up but something that you can live with, I'm sure. If you are looking for a good location in regards to the Los Algodones border crossing, this place is ideal. There is a huge mall next door and a variety of good restaurants in the immediate area. The staff went out of their way to make my 9 day stay, a comfortable one. Sherry, the GM even offered me a ride if I needed one. All of the staff on the desk were pleasant and helpful. I know all of their names due to my long stay. Ask for Carlos, Cassie, Richard or Ruben and they will do what they can to make your stay a sucessful one. Rocque, who works in maintenance also helped me out when I needed a lift to a mall slightly farther down the street. Friendly, nice people made my stay so much easier. A 10 minute drive to the border takes you to a huge parking lot where you can leave your vehicle and walk across the border. The tiny town is highly competitive for dentistry and glasses.

“A weekend in Yuma, AZ”

The room was as I had requested - non smoking & on the ground floor. It was facing the outdoor pool with a small patio with 2 chairs. The room was clean and all appliances were in working order. Good value for the price.

“Nice hotel”

Very pleasing hotel, were there for a week and really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was fine but a change in the eggs would be nice, maybe scrambled sometimes. Overall very enjoyable , would definitely stay there again.

“Reasonably priced”

The room was clean and matresses comfortable. Would need some remodelling - old style decor and old TV. The bar frig. was pushed in so the door could not close properly. We had to go to another floor for the ice maker as the one on our floor was out of order. A very small breakfast area with 3 small tables and 6 chairs so it was over crowded at times. Tiny dessert plates only for the pancakes and saussages.

“Good but needs upgrade”

This hotel has very good staff but the rooms do require attention, by that I mean they are beginning to look like they need to be fixed up. Our room had the wall paper coming off in several areas and while the room was comfortable, it was distracting with the wall paper falling off in these places. The linen also looked old - perhaps it's time to do abit of upgrading.??

“Serves the purpose”

Relatively clean, comfortable, reasonably priced hotel. Good location, easily accessed. Rooms getting old but acceptable.

“Met Tne Need”

Requested to change rooms after checking in as room was musty, drapes needed repair, and bedding needed to be updated. We were moved to the second floor and room was much better, However, the grout around the tub needed cleaning as did dial on the tap, and the wallpaper near patio doors required repair. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the balcony of the pool and courtyard was lovely. Would be nice to have a couple of chairs on balcony. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very bland..a waffle maker would be really nice to have as would bread for toast; Also, need to have a proper menu/guide for the t.v. Was a guessing game as to what was on. if you know the channels of your favorite programs and the time they are on, it would be OK. However,,,,,,, The location of the Shilo is very convenient for shopping, eating and getting to I-8. It met the need - room was clean and bed was very comfortable.

“Recomendable motel when travelling with pet”

NEGATIVES: Room ventilation system need better regular maintenance and cleaning. Outdated microwave and fridge POSITIVES: The room was bug free ( No Bedbugs!! ), with very comfortable bed Pet friendly, no odors or stains, a big plus GREAT Location near interstate, restaurants, and shopping
