Great mountain getaway feel!

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: Location up a hill with many trees and ground cover. My son saw a deer on the property while playing at the playground. Indoor pool and spa were great
Cons: Drains get snaked in tub/shower more frequently, or double check that they are draining properly.
Location: Yosemite Valley is about an hour drive. Nelder Grove is a great alternative to Mariposa Grove, less people. Be prepared for dirt road & outhouses.
Loved that this was a Best Western but it had the feel of a mountain retreat. Instead of one large building of rooms, they were in sections up the hill of the property. The staff were so friendly and helpful at check-in, offering several different things to do in the area. We were especially happy with the suggestion of Nelder Grove, since Mariposa Grove was closed. The Indoor pool and spa were beautiful as well. We enjoyed them both days. Perfect after a long day of driving, or time at Yosemite. Loved that we had a balcony and wet bar with mini fridge. The hotel was a little dated, and the tub/shower didn't drain well. Still, I would definitely stay there again!

My room smelly and uncomfortable.

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Pros: Lobby and reception desk is great.
Cons: too much
Once I opened the door, it came to me a terrible smell. Since it is middle night I didn't want to borther a lot so accepted. But the room was uncomfortable too. And the pillows were so small that all of us got stiff neck. The wireless almost can not be use. Terrible experience.

Nice place to stay while visiting Yosemite.

Liked the paintings the owner painted in rooms. The grounds were pretty. Nice to have pools and spas inside and out. Lobby was pretty.

Lovely Motel near South Yosemite entrance

Posted 11-Jul-2015
Pros: Nice Location. Nice Murals in each room.
Cons: It would be nice if there were a few basic upgrades made. The whole style is from around the 70's. But being in the middle of no-where it suited it.
Location: There are touristy shops and gas stations and places to eat up and down the main street, Highway 41.
It was nicely kept, and in a good location down the road from Yosemite National Park. It was convenient and comfortable. The whole village of Oakhurst seemed to support the tourists, and I only drove through it once. There is a restaurant in the parking lot which was a tiny pricey but nice too. I didn't use the pools or amenities but there were there to use if I wanted, which is also nice. I'm glad I made an early reservation because when I got there they were completely full! I was there in mid-July, so tourist season.

Excellent location, too pricey for room quality

Posted 9-Jul-2015
Pros: Near Southern Yosemite Gate, laundry facility, pool, balcony, welcoming lobby.
Cons: Remodel rooms, including air conditioning and plumbing.
Location: Accessible to restaurants, liquor store and markets
We were greeted by friendly staff. Loved the lobby and the grounds of the hotel. Laundry was convenient. Room with a shared balcony overlooking the beautiful trees and nice quaint pool was nice. My complaint would be the very outdated rooms, extremely loud pipes and loud air conditioning. For the price we paid for two nights, they really should remodel the rooms.

Hotel perto de yosemite

Hotel antigo, porém limpo. Não gostei das instalações pois dava pra ouvir tudo do quarto de cima: passos, ranger da cama, etc...

Clean and spacious rooms, pleasant staff

Posted 8-Jul-2015
Pros: The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, at least away from Highway 41.
Cons: I'd like to see them have a complementary continental breakfast instead of 25% off the on-site restaurant bill.
Location: The Yosemite Valley gate is 15 miles away and the Yosemite Valley floor is 45 miles away. Bass Lake is just a ten minute drive.
Very good experience, 9 on a 10 scale. The rooms are large and dog-friendly. The grounds, at least away from Highway 41, are gorgeous. The Expedia ad I read said that the per-dog charge is $20/day, and I tried to pay for my pooch at check-out and was told there is no charge for dogs. There is no continental breakfast offered but they give you 25% off at the on-site restaurant. I had the Kielbasa Hash breakfast and it was good. Was able to watch U.S. women's World Cup final victory over Japan in my room, free basic cable. The reception didn't seem high-def and the TV isn't big -- maybe a 25" set, but if you sit 4' away from the TV it might as well be a big screen. Free wifi access was fast with no hiccups. Shower head looked like it had a massage setting but I couldn't get it to do that. The AC unit in the front window put out ice cold air. Ten minute drive to Bass Lake, I let my Boxer mix run the beach on a summer weekday morning with nobody else on the beach. There is a leash requirement but with nobody around, what the hell?

Nice hotel 50 min drive from Yosemite Valley

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: After spending all day hiking in Yosemite, spending the evening relaxing in the pool was great. They have an indoor pool as well as an indoor pool.
Cons: Rooms look a little outdated but keep in mind where you are, Oakhurst not in downtown of a city. Great hotel!
Location: Once again, if a 50 min drive is ok this hotel is the place to stay!
If you want to save a little bit of money, stay the night outside of Yosemite in Oakhurst. It is somewhat of a drive but worth it. Hotel is very comfortable and near places to eat and even a move theatre less than 1 mile away.
