Good hotel room for the price, no problems, everything worked, and good choice for this cost range.

“Cheap and Near to Shopping”

The worst aspect of the room were the odors...very dank and musty, and I got the feeling people had been smoking in it regardless of being "no smoke" room. Mattresses are over-worn too. But hey....if you pay little you can't be picky! I don't want to spend all my money on a room when I can spend it at the discount mall!!!

“Cheap, but you get what you pay for”

It's in a decent location I stayed in for a week, if you want to be near shopping, food, and about 30 minute drive to D.C. It's a fairly shabby hotel, and though I kept expecting bugs or something, never saw any. The fridge and microwave were nice, though the expected cable didn't mean every channel had to be clear. Free wi-fi was nice, though there's no explanation of how to get it (you need to open your browser and enter an ever-changing password) - a quick call to the front desk and that's easily fixed. Strangely, the maid seemed to change what she'd do every day. One day the bed was made, the next day not. She'd take the freshly opened soap and not replace it one day, and leave the towels the next. One day I left the "do not disturb" on, and she kept knocking. The next day I was pretty sure she didn't come at all. If you're bothered by noise (I'm not) I would suggest against - twice I checked to see if there was a window open because the street noise sounded that loud. In all, it was a decent place to stay because I wanted to be "near stuff" and because I knew I was pretty much just going to sleep there. If you're looking to spend money on the nearby shopping, or in D.C., and don't care about poshness, try it out! But if you are leary of more worn hotels, steer clear.

Only 3/4 renovated. Staff not well trained.

“Basic sleeping ok, location/upkeep could be better”

Drifters hung around our outside door until the wee hours, actually knocked on our door at 2:30 am asking to borrow a wine bottle opener--a little scary. The "continental breakfast" consistently said "Sold out" and there was only coffee thru both days of our stay. The staff was very congenial, and the room was a good basic, clean room with no frills. It was a convenient location, best price in the area--but not a place I was comfortable enough to return. A lightbulb was out, the hair dryer didn't work, and the bathtub --though I checked and it was indeed clean--was so stained that I was not comfortable bathing in it. Had I not been with my husband, I would have cancelled my reservation when I saw it--that said, it actually worked out fine for "basic" place to sleep---we had plans out in the community so had not planned to be in the room except for hours of sleep.

Location was very noisy from traffic noise and other guests. Breakfast included only muffins, English muffins and old juice. They were out of coffee. Employee was on his phone and did not even get up off his chair to talk to me.

“Filthy”

Rooms filthy. Extremely poor condition.

“Avoid at all costs”

Thought I'd save a few buckw while commuting to a seminar in DC. What a mistake. In addition to the dirty room in need of repair, the police awoke me in the AM to serve a warrant. After being poked and prodded, they realized that their man was next door. That didnt suprise me given the the condition and location of the hotel. On the up side, the free wireless internet worked great :).

water in the carpets, cockroaches in the room, dirty towels in the bathroom, mold on the walls and the worst customer service ever! When I complained I was asked to leave

“Rodeway is a NO-WAY”

The conditions were terrible, the room was dirty and the staff was less than professional (i.e. desk clerk with foot on the counter picking a scab off his leg). We will not stay here again.
