Winter in Winthrop
The property was fantastic! Clean, comfortable, and a great location. A perfect place to stay for our adventure group skiing in and around Washington Pass. The hot tub access was a big bonus! Would definitely stay here again.

Just what we needed!
Perfect space for a family of 4 plus a dog! It was roomy, but still cozy. Only about 10-15 minutes from 'downtown' Winthrop. Even though there was not enough snow to ski the Community Trails, it was a great jumping off point for other adventures.

No internet, no communication
The biggest problem we had about this place was that internet wasn’t working when we showed up Friday for a 3 night stay. WiFi was listed on the booking, and the check in email advertised a regular and 5G network, but neither worked (the 5G was never available). Communication about this was also non-existent. We (1) messaged through VRBO, (2) texted the host, (3) emailed the host, and (4) texted the property manager. We never got a response about any of this. The heat situation was slow to get going (there’s wall units in the bedrooms and a gas stove downstairs). Like other reviews mention, there’s also lots of extra blankets around for extra heat. It wasn’t totally clear in the listing that this property is half a duplex, but otherwise the listing was accurate. The location was nice, near Winthrop and on the ski trail.

Enjoyable cabin
Very cleanly maintained and well stocked cabin. Stayed with a group of 7 and was pretty comfortable. The downstairs has a futon, so that allows for max capacity. Biggest complaint is no washer/dryer machine. Small issues with the heating system. Plenty of blankets available though. Good stay overall.

Great cabin once you get there
Cabin is in a great location if you can find it. Use Google- do not rely on the directions in the confirmation email as they contain mistakes and don’t count on contacting the host as the phone number in the confirmation email is disconnected.

A lovely escape
Dancing Wolf cabin is everything you want in a getaway. The beds are comfortable, the towels are soft, the kitchen is really well equipped. Out there you can experience true silence and skies so dark you can see the Milky Way.

Relaxing Stay
We had a lovely time at the dancing wolf. The set up was great and made for a relaxing time. The pool closure was disappointing, but it's a short walk to the river and we all had a great time playing there.

Great for a family. Trail access is awesome. COVID is keeping the pool closed but still a great time at Wolf Creek.

Just what we needed
Easy booking, entry and communication. Great place to stay! The kids had a blast. The pool was closed due to COVID but it didn’t matter because we found a great swimming pool on the river. Highly recommend this property for your next getaway.

Lovely spot in the shade of the aspens
This place is so charming. It is everything one could expect for a cabin in the woods. We are new to VRBO and pleasantly surprised by the experience at this place. I can still hear the leaves on the aspens clapping for us in the breeze.

Great!
5 adults stayed very comfortably and noted that there was enough bedding to easily sleep 3 more. Temperatures were unusually below zero but we were very cozy. We wished that the hot tub had been closer to the cabin as we were too concerned about getting cold walking the distance to and from the hot tub to use it. The kitchen was very well stocked. Television worked well. The guitar was nicely tuned. Dominoes available to play Mexican Train provided great entertainment. Peaceful and quiet.

Comfortably rustic log home (duplex) well equipped. Skiing was fabulous with trail head next door!

Very Satisfied!! will save for next year!
I Rented this cabin to compete in the Great Puckaroo Hockey Winthrop tournament and was blown away with the comfort of this cabin and its amenities. The gas fire place kept the main living space super comfortable and provided a perfect drying wall for all my winter gear. The Spa was great after a long day on the ice . and the trail to the river was awesome. The cabin is stocked with everything you need for your stay. see you again!

Loved It and Hope to Return!
It is a wonderful place and very spacious. The setting is beautiful and quiet. It is very well located as it is close to Washington Pass (the owners' suggestion of the back way saves a lot of time) as well as to Winthrop and Twisp so it was easy to get to hikes and to restaurants.. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The heating worked well and the gas fireplace made it very homey. We hope to stay there again!

Everything you need for a family gathering
Our family group, with young kids, stayed at this cabin for my husband's biking birthday. We arrived in particularly hot weather, but found that the fans in the bedrooms tempered the heat well. The layout worked well for us - parents and kids took over the ground floor and grandparents were able to shut the downstairs door and enjoy privacy and quiet upstairs. The kitchen had everything you could need to self-cater, and there were plenty of games for the young. The nearby pool and hot tub were a huge bonus for energetic youngsters. The living room and dining table were generous, enabling us to host the birthday event with friends. The cabin was a 15 minute drive to the great bike trails at Sun Mountain, the supermarket and the historic sights of Winthrop. Altogether we were very happy with our choice and are considering returning here in the winter with our skis! Thank you Jiri for your prompt replies to all my questions.

Great cabin with nie ammenities.
Only issue was the pool and hot tub - still winter-proofed and it was 90 degrees outside. Other than that, the cabin was great and comfortable.

Comfortable home, direct trail access
We found our stay to be very comfortable with everything we needed for two families with small children. The direct trail access was most important to us and worked out perfect. The hot tub was nice and big and never crowded. The private road was quiet and meant we felt the kids were safe playing out in the snow without worrying about fast cars passing through. We loved it and will look here in the future.

We had a great stay at this log house! The area is beautiful, the home is spacious and cozy - we had everything we needed. The onsite manager was also very responsive when we needed new batteries changed for the thermostat. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub, but our boys enjoyed playing in the yard and utilizing the snow sleds.

Wonderful cozy cabin.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in your cabin. The main living area was the best part along with the front deck. The only thing that would have been nice is to have the passcode for the deck entrance, not the second floor entrance. Loved being so close to the Methow River.

The pass code is the same for both entrances, 2nd floor and the deck. We will ask our cleaner to verify that there is no problem with the lock.

Comfy and happy
We (4 adults and 2 dogs) had a great time at Dancing Wolf and were very comfortable during our stay. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with dishes, pans, etc. Our only concern when we arrived was we couldn't find any heating for the upstairs, but we quickly figured out that if we left open the 1st floor access door to the upstairs, that was enough to heat both floors.

Very nice cabin perfectly situated near outdoors and town.
The best review I can give is that we will be coming back on our next trip to Winthrop. What we liked best: The cabin is located only 5 miles from Winthrop (we road our bikes in to town). It is also accessible via a gravel road off hwy 20 that has plentiful trails and adventure. The cabin was clean and well stocked and the manager/owner was responsive. Loved it!

Perfect Place for a Retreat!
We brought 8 people over for a long weekend spent in the mountains! It was a perfect place to hang out and make meals. There was space for our dog to run around and it was easily accessed off the main road. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area. The only downside is the sleeping situation, the twin beds are at the foot of the queen beds. They are easily moved though!

Property and layout was great but plumbing a problem
We liked the development and the cabin layout suited our needs. However, the toilet downstairs was clogged from the get-go. Based off of the signage in the pool bathroom it is a common problem. We were unable to reach anyone the night we arrived regarding this. It was never resolved which meant 6 people using the upstairs bathroom for anything needing toilet paper.

Very sorry about the slow draining sewer. It has been fixed and should be good for next 5 years.

Overall nice and rustic
Had a nice 3 night stay with our family. Positives: loved the log cabin feel, not too far from Winthrop, short walk to the river, horseshoe game on site. We did not use the pool but it was nice and we saw younger families having fun. Other things to consider: 1). on-site manager Gabby was very helpful in bringing us charcoal brickettes for the bbq (however-- either they should be provided, or it should be more clear in the write-up that there is no gas bbq available on the property or the resort-- this was not what we expected). 2) No AC, but if windows open at night the cabin stays cool enough. 3) Apple/google map error-- note that the only way to reach the cabin on paved roads is from the SE / Winthrop side. We came over Highway 20 from Seattle and our map apps routed us over several miles of rutted dirt road from Mazama (don't make that mistake!). 4). Yes, it is 1/2 of a duplex but that was not a problem at all, we never heard or saw the family next door. 5). Finishes are not fancy but it is a cabin! Overall a good value and a very nice place to stay in the Methow Valley.

We spent my father's 75th birthday at the Dancing Wolf and wished we could have spent a whole week at Wolf Ridge. Wonderful piece of property in the Methow Valley, a quick 15 minute drive to Winthrop (in case you forget any groceries, etc). Looking forward to staying here again in the future!

Mountain living, perfect for families!
The location in the Methow Valley is ideal. The resort amenities were perfect for our two families with small kids, understated, authentic, clean, extremely kid friendly. The cabin was clean, well appointed, and so comfortable for our two families with the bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed, it really felt like home. The large windows with mountain views and aspens right outside meant you felt like you were outdoors even when you're cozy and warm inside. Having the kids playground and hot tub/pool right across the way made the parents happy because the kids could come and go as they pleased - we like free range kiddos!! We came for the Sun Mountain 25K trail race and this location was perfect. We also climbed a peak up near Rainy Pass, visited Winthrop and Mazama (adorable towns with great shops, breweries, etc.). We were perfectly located for all of those outdoor pursuits. We can't wait to come back! Thank you!

Cordial and cozy stay
The owner was very cordial and communicative in arranging our stay. We really loved the location, away from the hustle and bustle, yet still close enough to access the best skiing around. We would definitely stay here again. Was so awesome we were allowed to bring our dog. The jacuzzi was also a hit after the long days XC skiing.

Wonderful weekend

We stayed for 4 nights to ski. The main valley trail is right out your door with great skis to Mazama and Winthrop starting here. The other major areas are just a short drive. The small towns are interesting and not too touristy so nice to snoop around in after a day on the trail it's our second trip to the area and we will stay here again

clean, comfortable stylish cabin
Everything was as described on the website, cabin was clean and private. We appreciated the little things that make your life easier. Such as outside ski holder, drying racks, table games and guitars. Owners were very responsive. We skied right from the cabin, which is very convenient, especially if you have children. In the evening, we sat in the hot tub, watching stars. We will visit again!
