“Great indoor water slide, jacuzzi and free wireless internet!”
We were in Winnipeg for a wedding, and we found the Marlborough Hotel to be a good value. We chose the hotel for its location (in Downtown Winnipeg), free wireless internet (an absolute necessity for us, since many hotels charge about $10/day), and best of all, "Downtown Winnipeg's only indoor water slide" (a delightful bonus!). The spiraling slide is truly an innovative use of space and offers lots of fun for families--and even adults who like to indulge in some playfulness too. The jacuzzi hot tub also hit the spot after walking out in the winter cold. The hotel is an older one, but it's clean and offers all the basics, including proper heating for the winter. The front desk staff was responsive; they called cabs for us that arrived immediately, provided us with directions to a nearby restaurant, and offered attentive, friendly service.

“Good Value”
The hotel isn't necessarily luxurious, but it is comfortable and well worth the price. Beds/pillows were nice and soft. The shower, though the temperature can be temperamental in the morning, has a real nice flow. Good parking right across the street. The only complaint I have is that my room didn't have a view of the outside world. Out the window was an enclosed courtyard with other rooms all around. Other than that, it was a relaxing room.
“very good accomodations”
We found our room very clean and comfortable. Hotel was close to the venue we went to. We ate at the resturant (Joanna's) but were dissatified with the service. The food was very good though. There were not a lot of customers but it took a long time to get service. We were there for both supper and breakfast and the service was just as bad for both meals.
“Not too bad”
This was a nice hotel. Watch the elevators though as they are a little old you can tend to lose you stomach occasionally. Had a bit of trouble with the front desk as they seemed to be understaffed and lost my credit card details. However was close to the downtown area and tourist attractions.
“Good value”
I had read mixed reviews of this hotel and so booked with some trepidation, but I ended up being glad that I stayed there. The hotel could use some updating in furniture in the lobbies and such, but overall, it was a comfortable and friendly place to stay. We (and our son) especially liked the pool and waterslide. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is definitely a good value.
“Great value for money”
An excellent value for the money. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. It's basic, not luxury - but the location for the price is unbeatable: steps from the MTS Centre and Burton Cummings Theatre, a few blocks from Portage & Main and the Exchange District, and a very short ride to The Forks, Osborne Village and Corydon Ave.
“Good hotel for the price and location”
Whenever I'm visiting Winnipeg, I usually stay here. I stay here many times a year and I have no complaints about the hotel
“Great for the money we paid”
This is a good hotel in downtown Winnipeg. However, we learnt of other hotels closer to the Conference Convention Center once we had looked around for a few days, although these are much more expensive. If you are after a cheap but comfitable hotel, then his is the one for you! However, generally be aware that there is another side to Winnipeg, which is much nicer, where there are more resturants and cafe's close by. These are in walking distance from the Marlborough Hotel (5-10 mins). The area near the River is also nice. Have fun in Winnipeg! Bonus: the hotel paid for our trip to and from the airport to the hotel!
“Great low cost accomodation in the heart of Winnipeg's business district”
This hotel was low cost and located downtown near my meeting location so it was ideal. The high end hotels were going for 3 to 4 times the price and in this writers opinion they were not 3 to 4 times the hotel.
