“Great downtown hotel!!”
All staff, especially the front desk staff, were very friendly and helpful. On arrival was informed my room had been upgraded, and had a lovely studio with full kitchen. It was a joy! The area is very central, and many sites such as The Forks, and the Portage Mall were within easy walking distance.
“Great value”
I recently stayed at the Delta down the street for three nights - and paid more. The price was better and the rooms were nicer at the Place Louis Riel for my single night stay. I wish I had booked the entire stay at this hotel instead.
“Rather nice hotel ... given the place / city”
Staff was rather helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. On check out we were pleasantly informed, quoting "... Expedia is taking care of everything ...", which was a nice touch.
“Very nice hotel, curteous staff, good location”
Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel. I stayed in a luxury suite which included a kitchenette as well. The check-in process was quick and the staff were very friendly. The room itself was very clean and featured modern decor. My only tiny complaint was that the room smelt slightly musty...likely due to AC overuse and none of the windows opened to allow fresh air. But on the whole, I was very pleased with this hotel and there was a taxi on-hand to take us to the airport.
“great room and service”
We loved the room. We were close to the city center and the service was great.
“Great Value!”
This hotel was fabulous! We stayed as a family in a suite for several days and it was great! The hotel was clean, and the staff at the front desk were very helpful, polite and courteous. The room was nicely decorated and fully renovated. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, etc. The room was spacious and had plenty of space for all of us and our 2 cats. The housekeeping staff were great and very friendly. We would definitely stay here again! The downside to this hotel- the location is a bit sketchy. There are always people roaming the streets in this part of town and they can be quite loud and beligerent. The parkade "arm" wasn't working, but we were compensated and didn't have to pay for parking for several days, however, it can be quite expensive. While we were staying at the hotel, it was an evacuation location for some communities during the MB flood and those guests were a bit frustrating. The business centre became a hub for teenage facebook-ers, with no respect for etiquette. As well, the lobby became a large living room with people laying on the couches and snacking with a trail of mess left behind. It was obvious the hotel staff were trying to keep things managed, but with rude guests... it's a challenge. Overall, we would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it. One of the best places we have stayed in Winnipeg.
“Always a great place to stay!”
The hotel is in a great location. There have been renovations over the past couple of years and the rooms are really nice and spacious!
“Great location!”
Perfect place for a quick trip to Winnipeg. Easy walk to The Forks.
“Ah-mazing!”
I have stayed in many, many, many hotels over the past year and this has them all beat! The hotel staff was incredible, polite, and accomodating. The rooms were gorgeous, clean, and felt like home. The neighbourhood was not that great, but that's to be expected in downtown Winnipeg and we fully expected that. However if there was any problems near the hotel, security fixed it within minutes. I'm a smoker so to avoid the people hanging around outside begging for smokes, the front desk let us know that there is a smoking patio on the 4th floor that we were more than happy to use. I can't say enough about this hotel and will absolutely be staying there when I'm back in Winnipeg. Don't let the area fool you -- this hotel is a gem!!
“Excellent Hotel”
My wife & I stayed for three nights and were extremely satisfied & impressed with the hotel. We unexpectedly received an upgrade free of charge (we won't expect this every time we stay but it was a special blessing as we were clebrating my birthday while there) and this after having to cancel our first night's stay because of flight cancellations. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The only small negative whcih has nothing to do with the hotel is that it is in downtwn Winnipeg and while this is very handy there is the need for caution when venturing out after dark. Great time was had.
