“Fair value!”

The motel was used for sleeping and was fine for what we intended. The hotel is not in the greatest condition, older and getting quite rundown, but for a place to sleep and a base for shopping and getting to know Winnipeg, it was fine. If wear and need for upgrades turn you off, find another motel; if you want a cheaper room, you can't do better. Found staff to be courteous and helpful.

“Howard Johnson Stay w/o March 19, 2012”

The Howard Johnson Hotel in Winnipeg maybe an older hotel but for the business traveller it is inexpensive, clean, freindly and look after. I will be staying there again.

“WIFI, seriously?”

The room was very clean, which was my priority. The shower taps were weird. The water went hot, then cold, then hot and you couldn't adjust it. And the towels were like Brillo pads. Also the internet connectivity was dismal. If you have work to do online from your hotel room at night, do not stay here.

“Not Impressed”

Do not take the "motel" take the "Hotel" room. Restaurant was not open when it said it would be. No elevator access to 2nd floor so if you have a lot of luggage be prepared to take a coupe of trips. Make sure to ask for a room not overtop of the bar. Outside patio can get a little noisy. The first thing that hits you is the smell not sure what it is but very overpowering could be a cleaning solution but I can tell you it's not PineSol or anything lemony otherwise it's not a welcoming smell not disgusting but not great. I will say it was a great value but I think next time I would pay a bit more to stay somewhere a bit nicer and have breakfast included.

“BIG LET DOWN”

A WINDOW WAS MISSING FOR THE DOOR TO THE ROOM I STAYED IN. THE ROOM HAD A BAD ODOR. THE HEATER WAS FALLING OFF OF THE WALL. THERE WAS NO BED SKIRT AROUND THE BED. THE COMFORTER ON THE BED HAD NO COVER ON IT AND HAD A YELLOW APPEARANCE TO IT. OVERALL I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH MY STAY AND WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM A HOWARD JOHNSON FRANCHISE. IF I HAD NOT PRE-PAID FOR THE ROOM I WOULD HAVE LEFT AND NOT STAYED THERE.

“Don't Stay Here!!!”

The first room we were booked into was disgusting - smelled musty, was VERY old and decrepit looking, had a chair in the room which looked as if it came from the dump. Sauna and hot tub were not operational. Air conditioner would not cool the room to an acceptable temperature for sleeping. Restaurant was under renovation, therefore no breakfast as advertised. Would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Not Impressed”

I was not at all impressed with this hotel. Our "non-smoking" room had definitely had a lot of smokers in it. The room and bathroom just felt very dirty overall. The spa/sauna that the hotel advertised were also out of order during our stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are in the area, go to one of the many other hotels in the city.

“Stay Away!!!!”

1st night we were put into a "motor inn" type room in other building - on ground floor with a large window & a door directly from parking lot to our room. Very noisy with other guests opening doors & closing them. Room had been cleaned with a strong perfume type cleaner & none of us could sleep because we could not breathe. They could not move us until next morning as they were full. they had to switch to vinegar & water & windex to clean our room so that we could actually breathe. Staff really tried hard but there was a bug in our room on the bed (dust bug); the door to the bathroom stuck; the tub surround was not properly sealed & had the start of mold; the carpets were not vacuumed well; the bathroom fan did not function; the toilet seat was loose & kept coming off; the electrical outlets were inadequate as anything you plugged into them fell out (i.e. TV came unplugged - had to park garbage can under plug in to hold it in); iron was in rough shape & kept falling over so that you could not put it down while ironing; air conditioning unit was very dirty. Jacuzzi/Sauna were out of order. Just don't book here. Not worth any money savings. Would have booked a more expensive hotel had I known & I would have moved to a different hotel the very next morning had I not prepaid through Expedia.

“Would never go back”

Rooms run down. Mold around tub. Had to walk up 2 flights of stairs with luggage. The code given for internet access did not work.
