“Best downtown location”
I spent a week at the Delta. Very good location, close to City Place mall, the big public library, lots of bars and restaurants (try Oscar's deli for classic Winnipeg Jewish food), the Convention Centre and the MTS Centre. My room was quiet, clean and well-equipped. I slept very well in the very comfy queen-sized bed. I didn't try out the Blaze restaurant and lounge but did eat and drink at the attached English-style pub. Very decent food. I have also stayed at the Fairmount, the Louis Riel Suites and the Portage Avenue Holiday Inn but I think the Delta is the best for value, location and quality. Convenient underground parking as well.
“Great Staff.”
The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The hotel is 1 block from the MTS centre which is great for events there. It is also located close to a number of restaurant locations.
“TV & Internet”
My biggest complaint about the hotel was the lack of wireless internet. TVs also are somewhat dated. Room and bed were clean and comfortable.
“Great Downtown Location”
Nice location downtown, have stayed on several occasions and have enjoyed my stay each time.
“Good Location but well over-priced”
The hotel is well-located and the rooms are adequate but nothing special. Whilst the breakfast buffet was quite good, it was always the same and somewhat over-priced. We found the service in the restaurent to be very variable and they continually forgot to bring things that were ordered. Fo what it was (and defintely not a 4.5* hotel as advertised), the hotel was very much over-priced. We paid European rates for a mid-West Canadian city and would not stay there again at the rates we were charged.
“NOT IMPRESSED”
Although the hotel staff were friendly the hotel is aging and it showed. The rooms were quite small and dingy. Not worth the rate.
“Overpriced, outdated, mediocre service”
On arrival we (my girlfriend and I ) were told we were upgraded. Our "upgraded room" was a windowless family room right next to a bank of exercise machines. When I requested a change we were then put in a room with 2 double beds, when I further complained(as I had requested a king bed) I was told that this was our last chance and there would be no more changes. During these changes we had to haul our luggage back and forth through the hotel until our original room booking was satisfied. For the price, the room was very average. On the plus side, location was great and I had one the best meals of my life in place with impeccable service by the waiter/bartender. Will never again sleep at the Delta but will definitely eat a Blaze.
“Delta is OK”
This is your average hotel, nothing special. I stayed here business and I was shocked that wireless internet is not included with the cost of the room. That seems really cheap. Other than that, the room was average and clean.
“Unclean, no wifi”
The room was not as clean as it should be. Cement was falling off on the balcony. There is no wifi in the room.
“Great location”
Great location, central to everything, clean, carpets are looking a little worse for wear, due for replacement. Nice fitness area. Great Pub attached (Elephant and Castle)
