More than a hotel. It was like a home.

Posted 12-Apr-2015
When we arrived we were very impressed just by the appearance. We had a hard time finding it because it has a lot of trees in front of it, but a staff member lead us right to it. The lobby was elegant and the room was modern beyond my expectation for the price we paid. Clean, comfortable bed. No signs of anyone ever using the room. The pool and hot tub was a highlight for me and the children. We enjoyed the complimentary pizza, soda/beer on Thursday night and having a patio to eat outside. The breakfast was delicious and the staff kept it well stocked and would find anything you needed. They even extended the time for late comers. It is close to the beach and downtown Wilmington. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would love to go back again.

Good location. Watch for double-billing.

Posted 11-Apr-2015
Pros: It was truly unspectacular.
Cons: The mattress was pitiful. The second credit card charge is unforgivable.
Location: It's between Wilmington downtown and Wrightsville Beach (but there are other options).
The bed was spongy. The TV was poorly positioned. Although the room was prepaid through Expedia, the two night rental was also billed (and for less than Expedia!) to a card presented at check-in for incidentals (that were never utilized). Several calls and days later, the charge remains. The hotel staff seemed embarrassed, but they were not apologetic, and I'm filing a formal complaint with Visa about the 2nd credit card charge today. I would not stay there again.

All was well except the hot tub wasn't working about half way through our 5 day stay.

Disappointed b/c of high reviews; great cust. svc.

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: Cust. Service was outstanding. Location was perfect for us (close to beach and restaurants!) Room amenities were great as was hot coffee!
Cons: Helping showers get hotter faster. More improved, fresher tasting breakfast. ensuring workers check hot tub/pool regularly to foresee breakdowns.
Location: Great location! Really close to beach and restuarants!
My wife and I spent our Valentine's weekend in this hotel and were super excited about the overwhelming reviews (great price and great reviews are hard to come by). This hotel met some, but not all, of our already high expectations. PROS: First of all, the service was fantastic; the first young lady that helped us that sunday was very pleasant and friendly, and even called our room to make sure everything was ok. Wow! Joe was awesome (smiling too!); overall customer service was fantastic. My wife loved the soft, comfy bed but I had a hard time sleeping b/c I prefer firm (plus it was queen sized, and slumped in the middle). The room was pleasant and quaint and the features were cool (loved the kitchenette, dishwasher, etc.!). Plus the free coffee was outstanding! Nice gym too! CONS: Let me first say that Joe really tried to get this issue fixed and was apologetic. The jacuzzi and pool were cold b/c of a part that needed fixed, although they didn't share this with me when I asked if the hot tub was experiencing any problems before my wife and I arrived. We were SO looking frwd to it! But I will say when I complained after our stay, Megan (asst mgr) took the time to listen to our concerns, apologized, and took care of us accordingly. Awesome job! Also, the breakfast was just 'ok'; suggest a waffle maker instead of pancake maker. The brkfst area was surprisingly small, as were the rooms, but not a deal breaker. Plus the shower takes a long time to heat up.

Good stay

Posted 8-Feb-2015
Bed was uncomfortable and there was someone hammering in the room above us. It was intermittent but enough to disturb our sleep. Other than that, it was a good stay and we will stay here again

My Weekend Get-Away

Posted 3-Feb-2015
Pros: Everything was great!
Cons: N/A
Location: It was only like 5-7 min drive from the beach and you get to pass a TON of great shopping stores.
I decided at the last minute to pack up my kid and just get away for a few nights. I looked online and saw alot of hotels that seem pretty great. When I called the reservation line, I decided that I wanted to give my 16 yrs old, her own room, and I needed 2 rooms now, side by side, They recommended this hotel since it is like a mini apartment. It had a full Queen size bed, a separate sofa seating area, the sofa also let out and became a pull out bed, a roll out desk with a regular desk, an ottaman for you to rest your feet on, or you could eat on it with the TV tray up top, a FULL Kitchen including full Fridge, and stove and even a dish washer. The hotel was so stocked with a coffee maker and all the dishes, pots and pan that you would need. I am take my daughter back to the beach for spring break week and I may just stay here for the week instead of on the beach directly. It was only like 5-7 min drive from the beach and you get to pass a TON of great shopping stores. It is minutes away from the main hwy 40 and it is located off of HWY 74 which runs straight into the water :) ... It is also not far from UNC Wilmington and all the museums and sights and things. The hotel was very clean and so nice that I decided to even CASH TIP the housekeeper since she was absolutely wonderful all 3 days :)

Great Place, Features and Location

Posted 6-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
The hotel was clean and had a refreshing modern look in the interior. Our room was standard sized but offered great amenities such as full size fridge, glass top stove, silverware and other cooking aids. Our showerhead was a bit noisy (loud pitch squeak when in use) but we failed to mention the issue to the staff and it did not really have an impact on our stay. Breakfast offered more food than any other hotel breakfast I have experienced. Bagels, yogurt, cereals, fruit was all fresh and plentiful. The location of this hotel was centrally located so it was an easy commute to anywhere in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach. We were there in the offseason so I imagine local traffic would be more dense during the summer months. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
