“Nice hotel and fairly cheap”
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The help was nice and prompt. The honor principle kitchen is a very nice feature, allowing you to get snacks and necessities at all hours of the night.
“Reasonably priced hotel -- would be better for extended stays due to having fridge, stove, microwave”
Room was clean, bed comfortable. Easy access to main highway for faster travel to & from. Missed having a continental breakfast though -- that's always a nice added touch. The "pantry" had a nice variety of items for purchase....I just really enjoy having the continental breakfast provided.
“Great Stay, Inconvenient Location”
For someone coming in from the Airport, this hotel was not well situated--on the far side of town. That aside, everything about the Candlewood Suites was great. The room was quiet and comfortable, the desk people were helpful, and I loved the little "grocery" area to stock your kitchen.
“Good place to stay”
Room was very nice and clean. Bed was comfortable.
“noisy but comfortable”
I enjoyed staying in this hotel with the exception of having upstairs neighbor being noisy. I was very unfortunate to live in this room while this neighbor was occupying the room. Other than the noise problem I enjoy staying here because of the customer service was very helpful and courteous. The room amenities were very good for the price, having little kitchen was very useful. I like the surrounding neighbor because I felt safe.
“Very pleasant, even under construction”
The floor plan of the queen bed room was very different & BETTER than other hotels. A larger room than I had expected! Nice to have a full size refrigerator, a microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, stove top AND dishes, cups, glasses , utensils, cookware. All NEW and CLEAN. The room style was modern and very pleasing.The bathroom actually had a real vent that worked. I liked the cabinets and storage. The closet had a very strong paint odor, so I was unable to hang my clothes in it. The room was thoughtfully designed. Bed very comfortable. Noise level from neighbors was minimal. The hotel is in the process of being renovated, so the elevator was in a construction type mode....lined with cardboard & packing blankets. Stairs were narrow, and dirty. The outside grounds...lots of luscious grass, and a nice gazebo with grill. When the construction is completed, this will be a very nice place to spend a day or a week.
“NOT a good choice!”
Out of the way and no walking distance option for a meal. NO BREAKFAST!! Difficult to get a comfortable temp on the heat/AC. Possible TV dinner meals in the "Cupboard" were all high fat, high sodium. For a handicap room, should have a couple of vertical grab bars in the tub/shower.
“Think I could do better.”
I stayed for one night at Candlewood Suites, and the staff was friendly. The room was clean (strong smell of Pinesol), but the bed was uncomfortable and the linens were scratchy. Additionally, I ended up being double-billed for the room. I prepaid through Expedia and then the hotel billed my credit card at check-out. I asked the staff member at check-out why I had an additional $68 charge listed on my bill, and he claimed it was merely for their records. Seemed unusual to me, so I checked my checking account when I arrived home. Sure enough, I was billed twice. It took three days and two phone calls to the hotel to resolve the issue and be credited the second charge. What an inconvenience for a busy, working woman!
