“Newly Remodeled, Pet Friendly, & Quiet”

So, for starters, i am a local resident of Whittier, Ca. I recently stayed here to get a weekend away, no boyfriend, or annoying family members :) It was the first time I had ever stayed here, and decided to give it a chance since it had been recently renovated. It's located directly off Whittier Blvd, and in a safe neighborhood. If you go up the small side street that it is located on, you will go into Friendly Hills. I checked in on a Friday two hours after check-in time, and still got a great room! ( Corner by Ice machine, felt and looked a little larger than other rooms). What I loved most about this hotel, is that they allow PETS :) in selected rooms. And the cost isn't some crazy rate that is unreasonable. Its only $15 a night! Compared to the Radison, who charges $75, it's a bargain. When I walked into the room, I was actually shocked that the rooms were so nice. The first thing I noticed was the huge KING bed, all too myself, dark mahogany furniture, and the new Sony 40" Google TV. The only thing that seemed odd about the room, was that the bathroom was kind of small compared to the rest of the room. It did have a nice bathtub/ shower, but the space just seemed small. What I also liked about the room was the fact that it had a large vanity area. It came equipped with a small refrigerator, and a microwave! Also came with a desk in the corner of the room, which is great if you need to use the FREE WIFI. Even let me check out 2 hours late! Which allowed me to sleep in!

“Nice rooms, but the rest is a bit disappointing”

It seems that the rooms have been recently remodeled and the interior of the room was very nice. Looked like it had new carpet and the bathroom looked new and modern as well. As long as I was inside my room, I really like the hotel and that was good enough for me. The only 2 complaints about the room itself would be that the shower only gave you 3 drops of water at a time... with a newly remodeled room/bathroom I would have expected a better shower head instead of one that sprayed a drop into 3 different direction. Secondly, the door to our room had a giant gap between the door and the floor which let lots of cold air and probably bugs in, and the dead bolt didn't work to look the door. Unfortunately the outside of the property does not reflect the inside of the rooms which may cost them some business. All in all, the rooms are nice if you don't care how it looks like outside. The staff was a bit disappointing apart from the guy who checked us in and out. Whenever we we had a question we either found a person at the front desk who didn't speak English or an older lady who couldn't hear us. Not a great sense of safety with them in charge.

“Ideal for our one night stay”

Good value for money, recently renovated room. Helpful staff on front desk. Free internet access, microwave and refrigerator in room. Although the motel is located on a main road, the room was located a sufficient distance so that traffic noise was not a problem.

“Very good for the price.”

I have stayed here on a number of occasions on business. Very good value and a fairly comfortable room. The comfort of the bed is my only complaint.

“Comfortable lodging”

We enjoyed our stay at the Vagabond Inn while visiting family in the Whittier area. The location was convenient to all of our activities. The room was spacious and clean and contained all the needed amenities. Breakfast was sparse, but good breakfast places are nearby. We will stay here again if the opportunity arises.

“decent for the price”

You usually get what you pay for, but this hotel actually met my expectations for a comfortable stay. The location was 10 minutes from freeways and Rowland Heights. the room was clean. The breakfast was basic, though the juice was better than most. The furniture would have qualified for a 3 star hotel. Traffic is noisy in the daytime.
