“basic, but just fine”

For a basic hotel, it did the job just fine: the staff was very friendly, the location and view of the river was great. Having 2 queen beds in the room was very convenient as the 3 of us were quite comfortable.

“Nice hotel”

Typical budget hotel, everything was clean and basic. Neat hotel to be in. Kind of in a bad location, as the bar beside it is a little iffy. The plumbing was a little dated, but all in all it's a cheap and great place.

“Qualité moyenne”

Propreté moyenne au niveau des tapis. Grande chambre. Qualité des lits moyenne.

“Standard pour Whitehorse?”

Mon premier séjour à Whitehorse - 2 nuits non consécutives, donc 2 chambres différentes. La première très spacieuse, la deuxième un peu moins, mais quand même assez d'espace pour 2 lits doubles assez confortables. L'hôtel ressemble plutôt à un motel, notamment au niveau de l'insonorisation mais de ce que j'ai pu voir de l'extérieur des autres hôtels, ils se ressemblent tous. Les éléments principaux étaient propres (lits, salle de bain), mais les murs sont moins propres, et le mobilier est vieux et pas du tout moderne. Bien situé; il est vrai qu'il est à côté de 2 bars plutôt non recommandables, mais je n'ai pas été dérangé. Un préposé à la réception moins souriant que les 2 autres mais quand même serviable. A accepté un départ tardif à 13h00 sans frais. C'est un hôtel non luxueux mais acceptable pour le prix (c'était le moins que j'ai trouvé), considérant ce qui semble offert à Whitehorse (aucun hôtel ne semble luxueux).

“Disappointed”

The hotel front desk staff could not have been nicer or attempted to be more helpful; however, the hotel is not well maintained. My telephone would not work in my room. The box had been pulled out of the wall and no one seemed to know that. The wireless internet did not work for me or any of the other guests. The one hotel computer in their business center was occupied for over an hour by a young person who closed the door and would not get off the computer. When I finally got on early the next morning, another guest, a pilot, came in and harrassed me about needing to get the weather for his flight. The room was noisy as it was on ground level and people outside were laughing and talking as they went home from the bars. There was no way to circulate air in the room so it was stuffy and overly warm. Overall, just not a great experience.

“Not Worth the Savings”

I usually stay at the Westmark while in Whitehorse but decided to try out this hotel since it was cheaper with more amenities. I'll be sure to stay at the Westmark next time. The room was a non-smoking room, but it was surrounded by smoking rooms and there was cigarette burn holes in the bedding, so there wasn't much benefit as a non-smoker. I have stayed in pet-friendly rooms in many different hotels and never been disgusted at their cleanliness. This room was disgusting. In addition to the cigarette burns in the bedding, there was pet hair all over the room before I brought mine in. The walls were heavily stained and marked. There was dried red drops around the bathroom which may have been a previous guest's blood? The river view from one side of the hotel is beautiful. The view of the 98 Hotel next door and its sketchy patrons less so. The staff was extremely friendly and the free wireless worked well, but I don't think I'll be returning to this hotel.
