“The Lion and The Rose”
The Lion and the Rose BNB was one of the best places we had stayed. Definitely a strong consideration when we decide to visit the "North Country" again! The tour of the house revealed exquisite rooms and many antique pieces (a must see of the ...used to be... steam heat radiator in the hallway if you stay there!). Chris and Roger are the best hosts, and helped us find places to go when it rain/gloomy on a Saturday when were there. The biggest thing that was a concern to us about staying at any BNB was noises. Didn't hear a thing! The 2nd thing was LGBT friendliness. They were definitely not bothered that we are a gay couple. It was serenity for Scott and I. I highly recommend this BNB to my family, friends and colleagues and anyone who is looking for a no-hassle, no-drama place to stay!
“Unbelieveable find”
We consider ourselves lucky to have found this place. It was a beautifully restored late 19th century house a little off the beaten path in New Hampshire. The hosts were very cordial and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable in their house. We arrived a little later than we planned, but they didn't seem to mind and offered us a glass of wine and spent quite a bit of time conversing with us about the house and the restoration as well as sights to see in the Whitefield area. The breakfast was great the next morning and there was so much food, we skipped lunch that day. We are looking forward to a return trip next fall.
“Friendly and quirky”
Greeted with a glass of wine and biscuits and cheese on arrival (late afternoon). Introduced to the other guests. Recommendations for local dining and services. Owners very friendly and worked hard to make you feel comfortable and at home. Themed rooms are fun, lots of little extras - bathrobes, large range of bath products, mini fridge etc. Breakfast changed to suit individual requirements. Very enjoyable stay.
“New Hampshire at its finest”
The small town of Whitefield New Hampshire has a gem of a B&B. The atmosphere is lovely, the owners are fabulous folk and the breakfast is superb. If you are visiting the White Mountains and need a fabulous place to stay, by all means make your reservations now.
“The Lion & the Rose B&B”
The Lion & the Rose is a wonderful place to stay in a lovely New England town. The hosts/owners are very friendly and helpful. The remodeling and decor of the very old house is quite nice, and the breakfast was delicious. Having just arrived from hot, south Texas, it was wonderful to be in such a cool, inviting place.
“Great Location”
Very nice and clean B&B. The Innkeepers are very friendly. They give you nice tips for the day. The breakfast was yummy too. Good choice to stay if you want to particularly visit Santa's Village.
“Great Bed and Breakfast”
The bed and breakfast was lovely and the owners tried to do everything possible to make our stay very welcoming. Breakfast was very good as well.
“Nice innkeepers”
We felt more than welcome by the very nice innkeepers Cris & Roger. They were very helpful with their suggestions for dining out and places to go in the White Mountains.
“Great Little Place”
The Innkeepers were wonderful - Roger and Chris did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The Breakfasts were great - in fact everything was near perfect (I only rate things the highest if they are truly the greatest ever - no flaws at all). Anything wrong here was so minor, I can't think of anything. It was a true B&B experience with nice fellow guests and a delightful 19th century look to the place, complete with Chris and Roger's family photos. Would go back there in a second if we're ever in the area again. Stay there!
