“Impressed for sure”
We only stayed one nite but the room was clean and comfortable. Not crazy about the food in the lounge in the evening but other wise would definitely refer friends to this hotel
“Very Good Hotel”
My family and I concurred that our junior suite was very well appointed and similar to a condo in the amenities provided. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with very nice pots and dishes and even a dishwasher. Most importantly to us, the room was very quiet (no hall sounds or running water from neighboring rooms). We were a bit surprised that the indoor pool was under renovation, but since the weather was warm, we were able to use the outdoor portion. Our only disappointment was the dinner in the hotel restaurant on our arrival night. No one greeted us at the restaurant entry, and we had to have the desk phone to confirm that it was open, the food was mediocre, and the atmosphere resembled a defunct shopping mall -- not what we had expected from claims of having a highly ranked British Columbia executive chef at the helm.
“Not impressed.”
For reasons that remain unexplained, my telephone never worked properly. When dialing out, I would hear a busy signal. I had to dial "0" and be connected through their switch board when making an outside call. Also, the operator was unfriendly. This was frustrating by itself, but when compounded by being placed on hold, it was very agitating. Another issue of concern was the fact that my toilet did not flush properly and nearly overflowed. Luckily, a hotel “engineer” arrived promptly and remedied the problem. On the other hand, the hotel’s location was great and their one bedroom suites are nicely appointed.
“Not worth the price”
We were disappointed with our recent stay. The lobby and common areas are spread over several floors so you don't get the ritzy hotel feel. The steam room area (which was one attraction for booking this hotel) was undergoing renovation although this was not mentioned anywhere on the hotel website or even during check in. There are significant extra charges for parking and internet. The spa service was average at best, for which they also included a significant gratuity in the fee (which is therefore not a gratuity but rather an additional charge). Pool side deck and lounge areas were beautiful but the service was poor and the drinks were disappointing. Poor value for the money spent even at the Expedia rate. We will not be going back and would not recommend it to others.
“Super vacation spot.”
Great location and great service @ the westin whistler.
“Another great stay in Whistler”
This was our second stay at the Westin in Whistler. Everything was great. They do a very good job and the hotel is very nice and clean. Location is great, right at the bottom of the slopes and the Village stroll. Would definately stay here again.
“Service Rude”
No customer service culture amongst staff. As a Gold member was promised a late check out and was told the morning of check out that I was not going to get a late check out. When I spoke to the front desk manager she was very short and condescending and told me that they had lots of Platinum members (implying I wasn't important).
“Good location”
Good hotel, but too expensive for the quality/service level offered
“Best family vacation spot in Whistler”
We always choose to stay in Westin whenever we are in Whistler. The hotel is very well maintained, is pet friendly which is very important as we have a dog, and the staff is courteous and accommodating. Kitchen, the Westin Heavenly bed and linen, the fitness club, and the close proximity to Whistler gondola (important during the ski season) are among the top reasons that attract us over and over again. The only drawback of this hotel is the oily smell of the Japanese restaurant located on the first floor in the evening. It spreads invasively and is not pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to people who expects a relaxing family vacation in Whistler.
“Loved it - will stay there again!”
Very nice, great location, great service, comfortable.
