“Good (sneezy) place to stay in Penn Cove”

Lovely place, with accommodating staff but something in the Blue Room made us sneezy and sniffly.

“Cozy, historic cottage”

At the time we staid, the cottage could have used updated kitchen appliances. We did not use the oven, in particular, because it was too dirty and rusted. However, we thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cozy, nationally registered, historical building in an historical town. And, we had plenty of linens, pillows, towels, and kitchen dishes and utensils to use. Overall, we had all our needs met and enjoyed our stay.

“Delightful time in Victorian comfort.”

The Inn at Penn Cove is a lovely heritage house with two rentable rooms above and a great Thai restaurant on the main floor. The restaurant closes early enough not to interfere with sleep, and the location of the Inn just three blocks from the water front was quite pleasing. The bed and bathroom were great. The only complaint was that they claim to offer breakfast, but it is a gift card to a local bakery, and for two people it only gets you two pastries, with no money left for coffee. Knowing that, however, I would still go back.

Nice place to stay, close to the boardwalk. Town very nice. People were very friendly. The room was not exactly as I expected but the stay was nice.

“It's a B&B with a clean B but no morning B”

The room was clean, quiet and safe and I would stay there again, but I wouldn't recommend it to friends who are used to staying in traditional U.S. hotels. It wasn't exactly what you would expect of a B&B-- mainly because no breakfast was provided. Plus, the room had that strong 'old building' odor that is a cross between musty carpet and aged timbers and it was a little bit like staying at the home of a really old Aunt in the countryside. But she's a nice Aunt who tries really hard to make you feel comfortable.

“Amateur B&B”

Odd little place, the Inn at Penn Cove claims to be a B&B, but breakfast is at a nearby restaurant. The inn keeper does not reside on the premises, much of which is occupied by a Thai restaurant. The room was tiny and the bed reasonably comfortable, but the bathroom was "Harry Homeowner" with, among other peculiar things, a kitchen sink used as a bathroom sink. It is quiet, and the room has access to a (rather badly maintained) patio and garden. Overall, it was less like staying in a B&B and more like staying with some distant, somewhat impoverished, relative. Not good value for money and not a great B&B experience.

“Very disappointing”

This is actually a one room cottage built in 1904 and looks like it. It sounded like an interesting heritage building but it smelt of mould and was not very clean. The bed sagged and there was hardly any light to read in. I am not sure if there are rooms in the adjacent building but avoid the cottage.
