We stayed here for my birthday 4th - 6th April and we had such a wonderful time. We had a double room which was spacious clean, and came with a lovely a view over the Estate. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of choice. I especially liked leaf tea which you dont get everywhere. All of the staff provided us with fantastic service. Little touches such as a hand signed welcome letter, a happy birthday note with a box of chocolates left for me on my birthday, and a bag with water and snacks for the journey home, all made our stay extra special. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Excellent caring staff, From Check in to Sorting final bill. Outstanding customer service. Comp Proseco or Tea / Coffee on arrival. Room (29) Excellent, great bed, view, bathroom and shower (twin sinks). Spa good, just one wet steam room but spotlessly clean. Pizza dinner in bar very good, Excellent G&T. Breakfast included and outstanding. Even given a snack bag with nibbles for journey home. No hesitation in recommending this excellent hotel. Well Done..

A lovely hotel -
We had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size, lovely and warm and good lighting. The breakfasts were lovely and we had two bar meals whilst we stayed, both very nice and not overly expensive. We would definitely return to the hotel.

Step back in time for oldcworld standards.
Stayed on 2 seperate nights in one week. Returned for 2nd night it was so good. Felt like we were minded like family. Left a bag behind and when i returmed next evening the receptionist offered me a cup of tea. I had driven a good distance and here was a person who could read how to treat and look after a guest in an empathetic way. Each and every staff member was polite and went over and above. The food was delicious. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Lovely pool and not overcrowded. Came away feeling refreshed and reassured that old world standards are still alive.

Excellent in every way
Beautiful quiet location yet accessible for A1 and other locations. Such a friendly and welcoming reception on arrival plus complimentary drink. Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable (bed ok but I find all hotel beds hard). Bathroom modern and clean. Dined in hotel restaurant and good was outstanding just be aware all has Asian influences. Breakfast was fabulous lots of menu choice or have it your own way plus all continental options. Dined in bar too where food was more simple but equally delicious. All staff we met were warm, friendly and exceptionally helpful. Also had a massage in spa which again was faultless. Walk suggestions available from reception. Couldn’t recommend more highly and we will definitely return. If only all hotels are like this!

We booked the hotel as a birthday treat for our daughter. She and her husband had a fabulous time, they had dinner at the hotel and used the spa. The hotel staff went out out of their way to make it a memorable stay. A special mention must go to Caroline who helped with the extras to make this stay special.

Beautiful building and grounds with fanatatic staff. We were disappointed with our room, it was in need of an upgrade. The carpet was dirty and stained and the bathroom needed a good scrub. Compared to others that we booked on this trip it was over priced.

Set in the open countryside the hotel has a fantastic vista. We stayed for just one night for a special celebration and we were made most welcome. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to hear we had been given a bedroom upgrade free of charge. It was an amazing room. Whilst it was located in the 18th-century manor it was clean, beautifully decorated and had all the modern facilities. The room was spatial and the bed/chairs were very comfortable. The owners even provided a couple of books for us to read during our stay and were free to take away! We had evening dinner with a premeal drink in the bar area. The tables were well spaced; the food was excellent and the staff were both helpful and made you feel special. My partner used the spa and had we been staying longer, I would have used both the pool and the gym. Only time prevented this. Parking was immediately in front of the hotel. Whilst the one night's stay was expensive, we had a great time and look forward to a return visit at some time in the future.

Anniversary stay
Lovely stay to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely extra touch was a handwritten card and tin of Yorkshire biscuits left in our room. Lovely spa treatment too. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful historic property which was well maintained. The more recent additions which housed the spa blended in well. The immediate grounds were also immaculately maintained plus there were footpaths right outside the door with access to the scenic countryside.

Just excellent
It was wonderful food excellent older members of staff fab just some of the young ones didnt seem to put their heart into the job. Grounds beautiful and well kept. Our room was fab overlooking the front . Breakfast outstanding. We ate there the three nights we were there and all meals excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone .

Wood Hall and Spa Experience
Not all but some of the Waiting Staff were clearly inexperienced. The waiting time especially at breakfast was far too long. From ordering our breakfast there was a 30 minute wait for it to be delivered to the table. The toast and tea / coffee were delivered pretty much straight away but a 39 minute wait for the cooked breakfast was too long. This was the case for all three nights we stayed. The bar service was also extremely slow with the barman preparing drinks and delivering them to the restaurant in preference to customers waiting in the bar / lounge waiting to be served. We waited nearly 15 minutes to be served on our first evening and after a similar wait on the second evening gave up and retired to our room early. It’s a lovely hotel, the location is superb for a relaxing break. We can’t fault the chilled vibe of the place and as this was something we were looking for and once the staff are trained up I’m sure the service will match the ambience. The reception staff ( ladies ) were excellent and looked after us, especially moving us from a small dark room at the end of a long corridor to a more airy and more suitable room due to my anxiety issues with enclosed spaces. The spa treatments were good albeit small. Finally, on our arrival we took a sandwich lunch outside to take in the views. This was the first time I’ve ever had a Club Sandwich made with scrambled egg !. Not really suitable as it made the bread soggy and the sandwich fall apart. Might be worth changing it.

I did report to reception that my room was in fact not cleaned and my wife and I cleaned it ourselves! we were offered another room but that was not the point, we paid a lot of money for a room well below par! The TV was not working well; I could get either the hotel channel or an adult channel - not the best I suggest.
