Amazing facilities. Needs more personal touch.Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Amazing location, across the road from the ocean, and amazing facilities. The larger rooms close to balconies are absolutely gorgeous.
Cons: Management being more personable and warm. Attention to detail and getting guest requests correct.
Location: Where do I start? Its the most amazing location, as said earlier with so much to do in Plett and the surrounds. Google it or go to Lonely Planet.
Robberg Lodge has an amazing location, across the road from the ocean, and amazing facilities. It is truly one of the finest boutique hotels I've ever stayed at - and I'm in the hospitality and tourism industry. Sunsets and sunrises made me wake up at 5am every day, even if I'd stayed up well after midnight following our daily sundowners with the most gorgeous sunset off the balcony. However, management, while competent and professional need to be warmer and pay attention to detail.

Beautiful hotelPosted 21-May-2014
Pros: Room facilities, condition and cleanliness. All very high.
Location: Only down side was you had to drive into Plett town, including to the nearest restaurant, but it was only 5-10mins.
This is a beautiful place to stay. Everything was to an exceptional standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plus it's right on the beach. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location for beach stay. Room clean was latePosted 7-May-2014
Cons: Room clean time too late.
Great beach side location. Easy to main town. Room clean was late at 2pm though. Nice breakfast.

Perfect location close to beachPosted 10-Apr-2014
We stayed in a ground floor room in the main Robberg house. There are three other parts to the guest house, and not all share a beach view. But the location and public access areas mean you are never far from the sea and the beach. Our room was a tad small and had no cupboards to speak of, but our cases doubled up adequately. Town is a short drive away, or walk in the day, but the real reason for being in Plett is the sea and the beach. So love these aspects and you cant choose better than the Robberg as somewhere to stay.

Amazing Potential But Falls Slightly ShortPosted 19-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
Whilst the location was beautiful and the grounds of the hotel were impeccably clean, the light and airy feel of the rooms was marred somewhat by some of the slightly tired fixtures and fittings.

Exceptional value for money and great staff. Lovely beach location but car required to get to most restaurants.

Perfect beachside lodgePosted 8-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed in the Robberg Beach lodge for 3 nights and would rate it as the best place we stayed during the 2 week holiday. It was right on the beach, staff were extremely helpful, breakfast was great, and the room was lovely. No complaints!

No net,phone,heat,laundry,NOT family friendlyPosted 5-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
The good side: the hotel lobby, breakfast, surrounding neighborhood, parking, and beach access are all excellent. We discovered very quickly that we were placed in the smallest room in Cottage Pie, not really happy about that, considering we were staying for nearly a week. The hotel actually consists of 4 small buildings, only 4 rooms in all of that have a sea view, so do not expect to see the sea at all. Rooms have no internet or phones, so expect to hike to the main building for any customer service issues. Communal kitchen was so poorly stocked that it was unusable...we were caught trying to use it and scolded and told that we must pre-book the kitchen, and only then will they stock it according to your needs. Again, hike to the lobby every time you want to cook. Washing machines are nicely placed in the communal areas, but I was caught trying to use them and scolded by the manager and ordered to use the laundry service (which was insanely priced). I ended up hand-washing our clothes in the bathrub, which I was then scolded for that by the manager. After 5 days of being scolded for the kitchen use, laundry, and the managers giving stink eye to my toddler at breakfast, it felt like I was vacationing at my mother-in-laws house. It was a relief to leave and I will never go back!!
