“Watkins Glen area”

I have stayed at other motels in the Watkins Glen area, and the Longhouse well exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely go back!

“We will be back!”

The motel met most all of our expectations. The continental breakfast was satisfactory. The beds were comfortable. The towels were lush. We were happy with our choice of motels. We will be back!

“The Manor at Longhouse Motel”

We ended up at an Inn that the owners own just up the hill from the motel. It was an upgrade from the motel for about $50.00 but worth is. The rooms were large, King beds, large flat screen tv. A common room with a full kitchen, bar, blue, ray, gas grill on the deck overlooking Seneca Lake, a heated pool, and a hot breakfast in the morning. There was even a pool table in the game room!! Very happy with the "Manor" owned by the Longhouse Motel.

“Pleasant stay.”

Nice motel. Deluxe room was very big. Comfortable bed. Hot shower.

“So-so experience”

While we enjoyed the pool and the beautiful lake view, there is a lack of attention to guest amenities. "Breakfast" was skimpy. There are no trays to carry food back to the room. Donuts were very stale. Caution: the web site promises that every room has a frig but this is not true!! The room furniture is a mix of old and new, and the decor theme is dated. The old shag carpet felt crunchy underfoot, maybe from one too many cleanings. Although the room looked like a garage-sale collection, it was clean. The old TV had poor picture quality. VCR could not handle DVDs - welcome to the 80s. Management focuses on nice landscaping and curb appeal, but the essentials are overlooked to create a positive customer experience in this motel. For my money, I expected more.

“Dated, Pink and Basic”

Time to renovate the pink decor of cats and flowers. Like a Mom & Pop operation--well intentioned but doesn't hit the mark, especially with no wi-fi.

“Time warp”

The scenery of this place is wonderful and is under 5 miles from Watkins Glen, NY. The staff were very friendly and prompt. There is a pool which was not yet opened and a nice gazebo with a grill to enjoy the outdoors. The room seemed dingy. Smelled musty. There was hair on the bathroom floor and the cleaning sponge was still in there. The comfortors looked about 30 years old. We had no heat until the next morning when i went to the office (they are not there overnight, at least when we were there). To be fair, this place has potential to be much better in-season. We were there at the end of April, however, so I personally wouldnt expect much change. Was not worth the cost.

“needs work”

The motel needed work. When we first drove into parking lot, we almost drove out the other side, but i said maybe it looks better on the inside. For the first time in my 37 year marriage my wife heard me say i was wrong! We did stay, but only because we had already paid, plus we wanted to hike in the park. The people at the hotel were nice enough, but we so much wanted to leave that i had no trouble talking my wife who usually wants to sleep to nine, into getting up at 5:00 AM to hit the road.
