“Old DC elegance”
Very nice hotel, room was very spacious and luxurious, staff incredibly courteous. Bar was small, but cozy. Potomac River is a 5 minute walk away, with several restaurants.
“Great hotel, great location!”
We had an excellent stay! Our room overlooked the beautiful Potomac River & we couldn't believe the size of the room for the price we paid, which wasn't that much!! (book it over the weekends when the rates are cheaper) The hotel staff esp. the reception staff, were really helpful & pleasant. You can't go wrong with this hotel esp. its location - right next to one of DC's main attractions, the Kennedy Centre. The metro isn't too far as well. And if you're not up for the hotel food, you have the convenience of a Tesco supermarket, pharmacy, shops, restaurants, etc in the same building. Would DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone needing a centrally located hotel of good quality & service!
“Very Impressed”
I could not have asked for better service. Really, I cannot find one thing negative to say.
“Would stay again.”
The hotel was great, close to the metro. The Friday and Saturday night crowds in the hallways were loud, rude and obnoxious.
“This hotel was great”
The employees were all friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful. It was a bit away from the main area of downtown, but it was less than a ten minute walk to the Metro stop. It was close to area universities.
“Wonderful place to stay”
The hotel staff was helpful, efficient and friendly. We felt welcomed and by the end of the week we felt like family! Right next door are the promenade shops which include a Safeway grocery store, CVS Pharmacy, post office, deli, liquor store, deli, small Chinese restaurant, and cell phone store with internet cafe. The Kennedy Center is right next door. The metro stop, on George Washington University campus, is an easy walk (about 3 blocks). How much more convenient can you get? How much more convenient can you get?
“Lovely environment - excellent staff”
A delightful experience - ambience, service, cleanliness all wonderful!
“Watergate Hotel Makes For a Great Getaway”
Our first trip to D.C. We asked for a quiet room near the top floor and they gave us one. Nice staff to be sure. Located near a grocery store, pharmacy and great Chinese restaurant on the lower level of the Watergate Complex. Not too far to the Metro (subway) at Geo. Washington Univ.(about 1/2 mile) Walked from the Smithsonian to Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and back to hotel one night. A lot of walking but very do-able. Nice room with balcony. Would stay there again for sure.
“LIked it”
The only problem is we didn't get to stay a second night! Excellent service. Nice upgrade to a king with a sofa bed for our son. Comfortable and close to restaurants on the river and close to the airport. Plus, hey, it's the Watergate -- a slice of history.
“No scandal at the Watergate”
This hotel was awesome, we stayed for 4 nights and I can honestly say it was great. Upon checking in we were upgraded to bigger room with a stunning view of the Potomac River. Even the room service breakfast was great! I literally checked the matress I was sleeping on to see what brand it was because I can't remember a more comfortable bed, honestly! The Watergate gets five stars from me and my fiance.
