“Best Hotel, Service & location one could want”
Go look at their web site. Everything they say is true. The service is excellent, with a staff that is professional and acts as if they care. Always professional, always on top of your every need. Rooms are wonderful, and made my kids say "OOOH!" Concierge service beyond the norm, and available until 11PM, but they stayed even later when I said I needed help planning something the next day. The dining room and the food was perfect, even if the power breakfast crowd in their suits give it an interesting feel. Great food on Wedgewood china. Lovely. I could go on & on, but it would be more of the same.
“Warm and Elegant”
We stayed six nights in a king room. The service (front desk, bellman, concierge and waiters) were friendly, attentive and very professional. Houskeeping was flawless. The hotel is small, intimate and quite elegant. The famous view is sensational. This hotel is a bit expensive but well worth the price. The only thing that I would have preferred is that they provide a coffee maker. No coffee available only at the Lafayette room or room service. I would certainly stay at this hotel on my next visit to D.C.
“Classy, Friendly, and Welcoming”
The only way to truly judge a hotel is how they handle irregular situations. Arriving prior to 12:00 pm on a rainy day, we were provided an excellent room with no wait. We were also given complimentary umbrellas as we ventured out for some sightseeing. Taxis were quick to arrive and all Hay Adams employees were very nice and welcoming. I did not get a sense of superior attitudes, but only gracious smiles. Staying at Hay Adams was one of our highlights for our trip to Washington DC.
“Fantastic Location Great Hotel”
The hotel is right across the street from the Whitehouse. The staff was extremely friendly. The room was big, with a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was rather cramped, especially the shower. We recommend the cozy hotel bar.
“The Hay”
It is always a treat to stay a this grand dame of DC. They have exquisite rooms with the best beds you can imagine. Quiet, elegant...a perfect, upscale business hotel.
“Luxury and convenience.”
Our room was comfortable and well decorated. The bed was perhaps the comfiest hotel bed ever! The location can't be beat: walking distance to the White House, Smithsonian, etc. Concierge was very helpful with sightseeing and dining arrangements. Will definitely go back!
“Beautiful experience”
This is an old hotel, but is well preserved and just beautiful. THe common areas aren't huge like modern day hotels, but the architectural detail is really pretty with lots of dark woods and gilt painting. Service is extremely first class. The location is wonderful, putting you in walking distance of the WHite House and many other places of interest, and great restaurants.
“nice neighborhood”
Wonderful hotel, with great service and niceneighborhood
“Friendly and elegant”
The room was truly elegant and comfortable. The staff could not have been friendlier or more obliging. It is in a very handy location, across the park from the White House. What could be nicer!
“The Hay Adams Hotel Washington DC”
The hotel was great. My only complaint was that because we booked with a discount hotel service, I felt that our room was lesser. We got located on a back alley with no view. (imagine being across from the Washington Mall, that is why we chose it, with cherry blossoms in full bloom, and we were looking at a dumpster...) But the staff was great. The food was fabulous and the room was clean.
