“It was fine”

Not a luxury hotel, but it's a five-minute drive from downtown without traffic and is much cheaper than the downtown hotels. The walk to the metro was easy enough as well, probably 10 minutes. My room was comfortable.

“Lies, There All Lies”

When we read the hotel reviews of this hotel, we became scared. The reviews basically said this hotel was horrible, far away from anything, and scary. We trying to figure what we going to do in a scary hotel. Basically we were freaking out. But then we decided to go through we it. It was too late to do anything about anyways. We when go to the hotel, we were happy with it. The Metro station is just down the street from the hotel, it's a short walk and also the there's a Wendy's and McDonald's near too. It's just a very short 3 min, walk to both of them, Wendy's and McDonald's are across the street from each other and 1 min. from the Metro Station too. Also, there was a TON of security both inside the hotel and outside too. All the other reviews of this hotel badmouthing it are all lies! This was a great hotel! Close to food and the Metro Station which takes you directly to the White House and etc. I totally recommend this hotel. 100%!

It's was good and comfortable

“Pretty good, Better than expected.”

On May 13, 2009, myself and several of my co-workers visited Washington, DC for an event. We rode our motorcycles down from NYC. I've stayed at other hotels in DC on other visits that were much more fancier than this Quality Inn. I chose this hotel because the others were too pricy and parking the bikes was an issue. I've passed this Quality Inn countless times coming in and out of DC but never noticed it. I found this Quality Inn to be better than expected. The rooms were ok, the service was ok too. Nothing swanky but we didn't need swanky. The best thing was the parking. Parking was free. If you've ever been to DC, you know that finding parking in DC is worse than finding parking in New York City. The biggest plus is, you're downtown DC sightseeing in less than 10 minutes. So, if you're looking for a decent hotel, close to the sights without spending a lot, you might want to check out the Quality Inn on New York Avenue.

“good value hotel”

Great value - hotel is clean and staff are helpful; it's a good walk north east from the capitol and it's not a walk you would want to take at night. The breakfast was okay if you like cereal - everything else was a bit old (pastries,fruit) or cold (coffee). Overall, this is a good hotel for the money and the parking is free - which is a big deal in D.C.

“Not as bad as rated”

The hotel was close by to the train station but fast food places are not as close as reviewed by others. They are about 4 long blocks from the hotel. Otherwise hotel was clean & worth the money.

“Nice, but a mile walk to subway”

It was a very friendly hotel, but the surrounding area was not safe feeling at all also the subway was about a mile walk from the hotel. The free parking made up for the mile hike tho.

“Good for quick, budget minded travel”

I needed only one short night between meetings and close proximity to the airport very early the next morning. The Quality Inn met those criteria, along with the best price anywhere near D.C. center, and the taxi I needed was right on time.The staff was very courteous and helpful. The only drawback is that there's no elevator to the 2nd floor, so carrying two pieces of heavy luggage up 18 rather steep stairs was a challenge for this short 100 lb. person.
