“Great choice for the best hotel for a low rate”

When I travel I need not much more than a bed, a shower and a locking door. Offering the lowest rate I could find in a location close to public transportation, and with Expedia's help, this hotel was far and above an excellent choice. Very friendly, the staff welcomed me like an old friend. I was earlier than expected and they placed me in another room that was already prepared. Staff provided me a place to lock up my luggage AFTER I checked out to allow me to tour DC. I didn't have to haul a heavy suitcase around the attractions. That alone made the stay worthwhile.

“Good place to stay”

The place was clean, quiet, comfortable, secure, well-maintained, and a relatively good area/neighborhood. Good, free parking. I chose it for convenience to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception/Catholic University a few miles away. Would stay here again if the need arose.

Dead bolt chain was missing. Door did not close right, seemed unsafe.

Accessible facilement depuis le périphérique (route 495) Hotel calme dans un quartier résidentiel sympa. Proximité d'un supermarché. 10 minutes à pied de la gare, puis 5 stations pour rejoindre le centre ville (mall). Petite piscine à l'ombre + propreté à améliorer. Bon rapport qualité / prix

“Great Overnight Stay”

Motel 6 was one of the cheaper lodging options in DC, and if you're just staying overnight or for a few days, it is great. The room had a mixture of white and yellow lighting, and there was no shampoo/conditioner available, but that also helps to keep down costs. Wi-Fi in the room (a plus)

“Ok if you want to save money but pretty far from all the action”

When we arrived it was pouring since there was a storm and so checking into the hotel was a big help. The check in was a bit tedious as appereantly they did not have the correct information in the computer and they were trying to charge me more than what I had already paid thru expedia. Good thing that I had my proof with me of the total amount. The motel is just that, a motel...don't expect much. The room was ok. Just your standard room to sleep in. They do need some updating and the bathroom needed a bit more cleaning. The neighborhood is not the best in the area but there is a longs pharmacy very near. If you want to save money, then stay here but you will be very far from downtown or any historic place. I would try and stay closer to downtown next time and pay a bit more for a better hotel.

“TRY IT - YOU'LL LIKE IT”

Although there is no mistaking the hotel for the Ritz-Carlton, there is also no mistaking the value for the dollar that the hotel offers. It is in a reasonable decent neighborhood, it has all the amenities, including a swimming pool and a laundry room. The design is conducive to security, and the walls are strong enough to kill most all noise. In short, its a great bargain that I will use again in the future.

“Motel 6 - Takoma Park - Review”

Motel room was clean. Good value. Excellent for those on limited budgets. A pleasant surprise was the free Internet access in the motel lobby.

“Good value and convenient to downtown DC”

You cannot expect too much from a motel 6 however for the price and location it was acceptable. The motel has free parking which is an asset in this city. It was safe with a security guard on duty 24 hours. The room was clean with minor imperfections. The motel was very convenient to downtown DC and tourist attractions. This motel was not much with amenities however if you are looking for a place to hang your hat while you are in DC I would recommend it and I would have no quams returning to this motel the next time I visit DC.
