“Better than I expected”
Hotel was undergoing a facelift during my visit (re-stucco on exterior etc.) It was a very clean place to stay with spacious rooms at reasonable prices. Hotel staff was very helpful. The only thing I didn't like was the noticable bumps in the carpet in the hallways. Apparently wires for something (phone, TV, etc.?) were run under the carpet and this makes the carpet down the hallways uneven.
“Definately a deal, would go back!”
I was skeptical about the quality of the hotel since the price was so low; however we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast every day was also great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. So close to DC and the metro, we were glad to take the free hotel shuttle. Free parking also a plus. We did not care to venture any further than the close by Walmart. The hotel is very convenient if you don't want to stay in DC. Good value. You will get your money's worth and more.
“Great hotel! Would recommend to others.”
This hotel has clean rooms and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The shuttle drivers are great. They will pick you up at the Metro 24 hours a day. This is the way to go if you are visiting DC for vacation. The only restaurant in the immediate area is the one right next to the hotel, but it has good food.

Very friendly people, rooms comfortable for an inexpensive stay in DC. Shuttle driver friendly and knowledgeable. Shuttle to the Metro very quick.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff especially the housekeepers were exceptional. The stay was quiet and relaxing. The best part of the stay was that FedExField was only a few minutes from the hotel. Not only was watching the Redskins win in overtime exciting, but coming back to the room that was clean and comfortable was perfect. Thank you!
“Great Place to stay”
I stayed here for 5 days while visiting the sites. Very Clean-the maid staff kept my room emaculate. White bed linens can't hide anything. Also felt very safe here. Staff was Great! Internet had a good signal. I would definetly recommend the Cheverly. Also, A Walmart is only a quarter mile away.
“Yes-- it's all about the Service!”
We stayed at this wonderful hotel for 5 nights-- and it is really outstanding. This was our fourth trip this summer--and a reminder to me that a room can make the difference in how much you enjoy a vacation. The rooms were recently renovated, clean and comfortable. We arrived exhausted in the morning after a red eye flight from Las Vegas. We asked if they would hold our bags-- what could we do until we got into our room? They immediately put us into our room-- NO WAITING. The breakfast was good-- lots of choice. The breakfast room and tables were very clean. The front desk staff was always friendly, spoke, and asked if they could help. Our shuttle drivers were awesome. This hotel is out in Cheverly, but because the hotel van was always available to transport us from the Metro stop, it was really not a problem. I would highly recommend the Howard Johnson's at Cheverly to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive, quiet, clean, hotel they will look forward to returning to after a long day of sightseeing. This hotel treated us like friends.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The shuttle service to the Metro was superb. The hotel very well kept. I would stay here again.

“Very Impressed, Great Find!”
This hotel was exactly what we were looking for! The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful with everything we asked. The room was perfectly comfortable and the beds were very nice. The shuttle service was fantastic; the drivers were friendly and compensating. We had a bit of a wait when getting back from the Metro, but it was not a problem. Good breakfast and great internet access. This is a wonderful hotel if you are visiting D.C. for a few days. Highly recommened!
