“totally enjoyable experience”

Hip but not cheesy. I am a designer so atmosphere is very important to me. I was upgraqded to a bigger room and everyone was really professional and curteous. The restaurant in the hotel was superb as was the attached lounge. A friend from DC met me at the hotel and she wanted to aet there rather than keep our reservation sine the place was so appealing. I will deffinately return. Oh yes, the rate was very reasonable.

“Great room-great location-great service”

I was so happy to find this place is as nice as described, and the location is excellent. The only potential issue might have been that, as a family friendly place, there were a lot of families. My room had connecting doors to the rooms on either side, and I could hear people scolding their kids. As a single person, I'd prefer not to be listening to that. It didn't bother me too much, but my neighbors felt a little too close sometimes. On the flip side, that room would have been a great place for a larger family that wanted connecting rooms.

“Great Location, Great Comfort, Great Time”

I really enjoyed the Hotel Palomar. The decor is really funky but comfortable and they have free booze at the Manager's reception as well as free tea/coffee in the morning and free lemonade in the hot n' humid afternoon. The only complaint I had was that we reminded them several times to deliver a NY Times to our front door and they seemed to keep forgetting until the last two days. Who knows? But overall, you cannot beat the location and they were super friendly.

“pleasant surprise”

I have been traveling a lot and could not believe I would found a hotel such as this in the washington area. This is a high class hotel, extremelly excelent service, from the front desk to the room service, even the room service menu, flat screen tv, beautiful, clean, stylish and well equiped room. You can even find some gifts to buy with the hotel brand such as pijamas for you and your wife. I still can believe you got it all for that price. Amazing experience. Wish all hotels could be like this one. It has a pet policy that accepts your pet without disturbing any guest, that is great, I definetelly will be back there, for business or with my family(my dog included). New, beautiful, great location, great price, what else can I guest want?

“Another excellent Hotel Palomar stay”

I'm a Kimpton member who loves the service at their hotels. They've always been helpful and accommodating and the Palomar in DC was no exception. I got an Exec King for the Memorial Day holiday. Great rate, easy check in, but the 7th floor room was dark and had a couple broken bathroom fixtures. I called down and a guy from engineering was fixing them in minutes. I'd also asked if another room with more light was open, and was told to check later since it was still early in the afternoon. Around 7, arriving back at the hotel, I checked and was shown a spectacular room on the 9th floor. I switched and was very happy: floor-to-ceiling windows, bright workspace, quiet even though overlooking P street, comfy bed and a lot of space for the money. My one and only complaint with this property was that the pool was not open on Memorial Day as it was supposed to be due to some problems. I never got a chance to use it, but I'm sure it's open by now. Regardless, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

“great neighborhood, great hotel!”

First time visiting Washington DC, and I had a great experience! The hotel was very close to a Metro station, and there were lots of diverse places to eat. The hosted "cocktail hour" at the hotel from 5-6pm was fun, too!!

“I loved this hotel!”

This was a great hotel! I don't think the photos on the internet did the rooms justice. They were much larger and had much more sunlight compared to the photos. The service was excellent - super friendly. I also liked the happy hour from 5 - 6 each evening.
