Recreation
The Hotel Palomar's 24-hour fitness center features eco-friendly treadmills and elliptical machines with individual flat-panel TVs and headphones. Yoga balls, medicine balls, resistance machines, and free weights are also provided. The hotel's outdoor pool is open seasonally. In warmer months, lounge chairs line the pool.
Rock Creek Park, two blocks from the hotel, is a wooded oasis with hiking and biking trails, a nature center/planetarium, remnants of Civil War forts, and an 18-hole public golf course. Trail rides are available through the Rock Creek Park Horse Center. The park has soft-surface and hard-surface tennis courts; reservations are generally required.

“Great Location”
The Hotel Palomar in D.C. is Just blocks from a metro station, and awesome restaurants. The room was very spacious and well decorated, very relaxing. The complimentary wine tasting (every night) was fantasic and enjoyable. Great hotel!
“DC with Dogs”
Other than allowing pets to roam the property (and bark pretty loud one morning), our stay at the Hotel Palomar was very enjoyable. Pretty good location too. Pool area does not get much sun so don't plan on getting a tan there. If you can put up with the pooches then I think the Hotel Palomar is a good places to stay in DC.
“Always a pleasure”
I'm a return customer for the Palomar Hotel a member hotel of the Kimpton Hotel family. Typically I don't allocate time to write any reviews but realize the important to so many of us and felt impelled given the quality of service this hotel provides at a competitive price. The staff is great, the room size plentiful (but I did have a suite otherwise the room is very cozy) and the complementary wine service is a nice touch. I've been to many hotels in the DC area. If you're looking for a quality boutique hotel with A1 service, look no further than here.
“Excellent Value”
Hotel Palomar has an excellent staff and quality of support. In addition, the guest ae very high qualit people. The Bar/Restaurant is frequented by locals as well global travelers such as myself. The locations is good for first time travelers and experenced D.C. visitor.

There are a lot of great things about this hotel. Number one has to be its location... a few block from the Metro in a good neighbourhood with lots of amenities close by. It didn't feel touristy. It felt like, for a few days, I lived in DC.

“Incredible service and rooms”
I had to be in DC for 8 days on business and chose the Palomar because it seemed like a good value for the type of service they offered. Since it was Thanksgiving week, my wife joined me so we could be together. Everything far exceeded my expectations- the service was impeccible, the bed was heavenly, and the room was huge. The nightly wine reception is a great touch. Everyone was courteous and attentive, and the valet service was very fast. Perfect!!!
