“Comfy and clean, not fancy, not trashy.”
The hotel served its purpose very well. My husband and I wanted a clean, comfortable place to stay as we explored DC. The hotel restaurant had a good buffet for breakfast in the morning. The only drawback we came to figure out was that things close up pretty early around the vicinity of this hotel, with the exception of the McDonald's on the corner. If you want to be around a livelier night spot, this isn't the place for you. If you stay in at night and don't need to be around bars and clubs, then this is a good spot.
“everything perfect”
Just remember to ask for a room with any other view than to train tracks. I could hear trains going just outside the window starting 7am. :/ Everything else was perfect there and as expected for comparatively cheap price.
“Great Hotel and Location”
We were very pleased with the Hotel. It was clean and the carpet and furnishings were in good condition. It had a great restaurant which was convenient and we were only a couple blocks from some of the museum's and could would to some of them. Great location, I highly recommend it.
“Family Vacation Enhanced by Staying Here”
Am so happy we chose the Holiday Inn Capitol for our family vacation to DC! The location was hard to beat, being just a couple blocks from the Mall. The room met our needs and the beds were so comfortable. Kids ate free at the restaurant and we were able to enjoy ice cold beer at the bar after a long day of sightseeing. Our room was facing toward the inside courtyard, and was very quiet. Staff were personable and helpful. Will stay here again next time without a doubt.
“Clean and Convenient”
The location is excellent for sight-seeing on and around the National Mall. Also, tour pick-up at the front door was very convenient. The Metro stops just across the street. The room was clean and quiet. There are four different eating choices on the property, all reasonably priced.
“Will Definitely Return!!!”
Stayed there while visiting our college sophomore at Howard University. Was actually surprised at the convenience and proximity to many different interests. Lived in Maryland in the late 80's as a Washington Bullets player so didn't expect the type of genuine hospitality that was provided. I was extremely impressed with the service and will definitely stay there again.
“Nice!”
Very nice hotel and the staff was very nice too! I guess my only complaints would be...the restaurants seemed under staffed. We tried to eat at one of them and was told there were no tables available. However, we could see 10 empty tables just inside the door. And my husband complained that the men's bathroom by the elevator was dirty both times he used it on 2 separate days. But our room was VERY clean. And we were able to check out at 2pm...which was awesome too!
“Love DC”
You can't beat the hotel for convenience. Just four stops down on the Metro from Reagan National. One block from Air and Space Museum. There's a CVS next door and a Quizno's and McDonald's on the block. Starbucks is connected to the hotel. Loved it!!!!!!
“Family Vacation”
Allowed early check in after our flight was cancelled, then rescheduled for earlier, accomodated a roll away bed, extremely convenient location for touring, metro, etc. Starbucks in hotel, Quizno's, McDonalds one block down the street. There is also a CVS Pharmacy only a block away, for anything additional you need. We were worried because we were put RIGHT NEXT to the train station, but it wasn't an issue, you couldn't hear it from the room. The only minor complaint is drainage of the tub. With a family staying in the room, after one bath, it would take hours to drain the water out of the tub. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, wish there were a few nicer restaurants in the near vicinity.
“Enjoyable Stay”
Selected due to location near National Mall. Extremely convenient. Staff was pleasant, informative and attentive. Was clean and safe, which is all I ask of a hotel. Bathroom light burned out; reported to the front desk on our way out to dinner, it was fixed when we returned an hour later. Not many dining options nearby, but the Metro is only a block away. Ate breakfast once and dinner once at the hotel restaurant. Buffet was good although expensive for adults, kids are $3.
