“Great Location”

Very affordable hotel within walking distance of the metro and National Mall. Although the design is somewhat dated, the rooms were extremely clean, the staff friendly and everything worked well. Prices included parking as well. Would stay here again.

“Great hotel in a great city!”

Channel Inn is in a great location near the waterfront. You have a twenty minute walk to the Mall and 30 minutes downtown. Also a metro stop about 3 mins walk away, where there is a massive Safeway store. The rooms was really big and we had a lot of cable channels. Having a balcony was a good feature. I would stay here again for certain.

“Great location, beautiful view”

Our family just finished a DC vacation where we stayed at the Channel Inn. The room was the perfect size for us, allowing us to sleep a big family, have room for winter clothiing- filled suitcases, and a big cooler for picnic lunches on the mall. The hotel is just a few blocks from a Safeway grocer with a Metro stop right outside of it and you can pick up a circulator bus right outside the hotel front door. This made it the perfect location for our first family visit to all the DC stops! Best of all it is one of only a handful of hotels in the DC area that doesn't charge a nightly parking fee! We had a blast, enjoyed our river view, and were treated supremely by the staff! Thanks Channel Inn!

“Incredible service at Channel Inn”

I was extremely impressed with the service and overall experience I had at the Channel Inn. I came to DC in preperation of a move for my work and was in town for only a couple of days to look at apartments. Not only did the staff allow me to come behind the desk and use their computer to look at apartment listings several of the staff members went above and beyond, bringing in lists of reliable realtors, advising me on neighboorhoods and one woman, (I believe her name was Tara) even gave me her old apartment guide that she used when she moved. I was under the impression East Coasters were supposed to be rude compared to us midwesterners but everyone at the Channell Inn gave Service with a smile! Aside from the exceptional service the building was conveniently located in a very safe area of the city, walking distance to two metro stops, contains a nice upscale restaurant, and a fun bar that had great live music two of the nights of my stay. This is a great hotel for any young professional visiting DC to choose!

“Beautiful location”

The Channel Inn is rightly advertised as "DC's only waterfront hotel". It has a beautiful setting and if you look at their website the pictures are identical to what you see inside and out. The room was comfortable and we were able to get a waterfront room with no problem. It has a decent pool, fitness center tickets and free internet service. The coffeeshop and restaurant both have good food. Would suggest they get coffeemakers in the room or free coffee in the lobby. The coffee and bacon in the coffeeshop both could be improved on. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we would go back.

“Best kept secret in DC!”

Was a very good deal for the price! you will not find a hotel anywhere near their rates within such close proximity to the national mall. I would say 4 or 5 blocks maybe. Rooms were older but very clean with lots of towels, clean linens and lots of toiletries. Hotel lobby was more elegantly decorated than I expected, Rooms were basic but comfortable. bed was very firm and comfortable I would say in comparison to a Holiday inn or Best Western. If you are expecting a Hyatt or a Waldorf-Astoria then do not stay here- You will be disappointed. . The Bad- No coffee maker in the room, no Wi-fi in the room, and no chairs on the balcony. The Good- Each room had a balcony and at least partial view of the water, Area was quiet and out of the way, Walking distance to the National Mall, Taxi stand and Circulator stop right in front of hotel ( taxi about 8 bucks for 2 people to Fords theater- Circulator 1 dollar per person strait up 7th). We didn't eat at the restaurant on site but it seemed rather expensive ( Most in the area are). We did have a big breakfast in the hotel though which cost about $20 for 2 people- not bad for the area and the amount of food they gave us. I would believe This if a fantastic place to stay for a family on a budget. My advise would be to purchase a a circulator pass for the trip and maybe a open top tour bus ticket. between them they will take you everywhere you will want to go . I definitely plan to stay at Channel in again.

“So Convenient, Walk to Everything in DC”

The Channel Inn is located right on the Waterfront. Walk stright up 7th Street to Capitol Hill or take the Circulator Bus that stops in front of the Inn. Grab breakfast from the Coffee Shop. Head up the channel to the fish market or for a walk around the Tidal Basin. Very convenient to the Metro Yellow Line.

“Nice, friendly hotel”

The service at the Channel Inn was extremely friendly! It felt more like a neighborhood place rather than a hotel. I had to make some print outs of a couple of things, but they don't have a Business Center to do this. I asked the man at the front desk where I could print and he let me use the computer and printer in their office :) The workers in the cafe were all very hospitable and many people from the surrounding neighborhood go there for breakfast. The room I had was EXTREMELY clean--probably the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in! Although the decor was really dated, it didn't bother me because the room was SO clean and comfortable. The area that the hotel is in is also VERY quiet, that was a plus too. Even though it is located a bit aways from the main DC attractions that didn't matter because the Circulator bus stop was right outside the door, and that bus takes you north/south through the Mall, you can also connect to the Metro and the regular city bus. There is also the Waterfront Metro stop about 3-4 blocks east of the hotel. Overall I had a great experience at the Channel Inn and was glad I got to experience some local hospitality.
