“Rustic charm in somewhat rundown city”
Was a little surprised at the rustic look of the motel when first arriving. This was from the front; However, once in my room I found the rustic charm (cedar logs and high ceilings) to over compensate for this initial reaction. In the rear of the motel was an area to picnic or just relax along the river. A grassy knoll with muskoka chairs, picnic table and bbq...this was quite enjoyable and made mingling with other motel guests quite easy to do. Bathroom's sink was not in bathroom but in bedroom area...odd; But not a deal breaker. Motel was quite a distance from the main beach (beach area 1/2) in Wasaga Beach and drive was necessary to get there ( 5 km or so). Most importantly, the closer you get to the main beach the more run-down looking are the accomadations (even most of the cottages); So that being said, I would stay here again. You can get to Beach areas 3-5, by walking and still enjoy the scenic splendor of this oasis of Ontario
