“Stratford's best hotel”
Spacious, clean, good facilities, great location and great value.
“Great hotel in Stratford”
Excellent location in Stratford-Upon-Avon. We walked into town and enjoyed dinner at the Lamb's restaurant on Sheep Street. We also enjoyed the Brass Rubbing Centre. Everything was within walking distance. The pool and hot tub at the club were a nice break although there was a restriction on children being at the club after 7 pm. We went for an hour around 6:00 pm and then went out to dinner, so we were able to work around it and still enjoy the pool. The room was clean and well-maintained. We had a sofabed as requested and it was made up for us when we arrived. The room was not huge and the sofabed took up some space, but we were still able to get all of our luggage into it (2 large suitcases and 3 small rolling bags). The breakfast was just ok, but I am American and didn't like it as much as my husband did who is English. The Tchibo coffee and tea left a lot to be desired. Even the tea was gray. The coffee at the Winchester Holiday Inn was a lot better. The front desk was very friendly, informative and efficient. We found the internet access to be a bit antiquated and pricey - only available in the lobby and was 3.99 GBP for 15 minutes or $7.99 for 45 minutes. Despite the statement on the card that the access was good for 12 months, we tried using a 45 minute card at another Holiday Inn, and it didn't work. All in all, a very positive experience for an American with high standards. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Stratford.
“Superb Location”
Room was comfortable although not a pleasant view overlooking a large roofed area. Internet WiFi not free which was disappointing in this day and age. Aside from this we enjoyed our stay here. Health centre with small pool, jacuzzi, gym and towels provided was really useful. We would return here if going to Stratford-Upon-Avon.
“excellent location”
Very easy to get to. Plenty of parking even over the August bank holiday. Right in the town centre so can walk everywhere.
“Wonderful location”
This is situated right on the Avon River and within easy walking distance/access to bus rides, shopping,The Shakespeare Theater and other attractions. Plenty of parking is available if you are driving. Our room was comfy, a reasonable size and nightly rate, breakfast was great and lunch and/or evening meal was available. You could enjoy a drink, coffee etc. in the outdoor area under beautiful horse chestnut, elm and birch trees, enjoying the ambiance of the Avon River. We loved this spot and will definitely stay again next time we visit the UK.
“Perfect position”
We have stayed here a few times now and have never had a bad room. The beds are very comfy and the room has everything you might need. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice and service is superb. The hotel couldn't be in a better position and considering this it is good value.
“Overall okay”
My wife, my sister (from New Zealand) and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Stratford after a performance of "As You Like It". The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the chambermaids in the corridor all smiled and said 'good morning', a nice touch. Parking was plentiful, and not expensive by London standards! I cannot comment on the bars or restaurants, we did not eat or drink at the hotel. This was simply because we were out sigboth htseeing. The hotel is in a good location for the town and the theatre. If we go back to Stratford-upon-Avon this hotel would be my first choice.
“Great weekend break”
This hotel is in a great location - for sights and restaurants. We had supper in the town each night as all the restaurants were so convenient. The hotel is good value for money and we enjoyed having the swimming pool there - we used it everyday. We had a very busy break as there is so much to do in the local area. We saw the Shakespeare's houses, Warwick Castle and Cadbury's World.
“Pity about the parking”
We had stayed in this hotel in March this year and were impressed so decided that we would return. Hotel was still as good but we were now charged £5 for parking. We were assured that parking had been charged for years and were told that we could not have stayed in March without paying the charge. This was definitely not true. We will look round for alternative accommodation when we return to Stratford.
“Very enjoyalbe trip”
Would upgrade to king size bed executive room next time. Would have liked a walk in shower and better lighting. The management and staff excellent. Really had a good time.
