No problem with the hotel or staff. Staff was very friendly. My neighbor and their kids were extremely loud in the morning so I had a nice 6:30am wake up. They closed the door lock/bolt and continued to go in and out of the room repeatedly, allowing their door to slam shut on the latch over and over again for hours.

I am so sorry to hear that the neighbors were inconsiderate. Had I known, we would have requested them to keep it do a dull roar vs a loud bang! It is a nice hotel, i just didn't appreciate the staff asking me what room i was in every time i asked for something, also we left due to a family emergency and forgot to check out do they are trying to charge me an extra $250 dollars which I'm not paying!

The stay was fine. Check-in was easy, we had a late arrival, the young man was friendly and informative. The breakfast was okay, could've had some hot options other then warming up an omelet in the microwave. We still had a filling breakfast regardless. Perhaps update some pictures on the website online looks like older pictures kind of misleading.

Property is dated, but clean. Staff was super friendly. Pool, hot tub and sauna were nice. I read reviews complaining about the free breakfast. I thought they had a lot of options for a quick warm or cold breakfast. I mean, there are make-your-own waffles. The beds were really uncomfortable, but for the price, we didn’t expect to be sleeping on a cloud. Heads up, no elevator to second floor. All in all, we were happy with our stay!

The "New" AmericInn - enjoy your stay!
Management: polite, friendly, ready to help. The room carpet was filthy. Poor breakfast. Never unlocked the breakfast fridge until breakfast was almost over. Literally 3 small milks for cereal for everyone in the bldg. no water pressure in shower. Barely a sprinkle. No room service. Take care of your own trash, beds and towels. Disappointing to say the least.

Yes, our bathrooms are in need of updating. Lucky for us, that is planned to start this fall. We anticipate having a lot of updates happening over the next year and would love to have you visit again! Our rooms have regular and decaf available. Not so great.
The motel is really in need of refurbishing. It is pretty old and run down. Our room was clean, however they put us in a former "smoking" room, and it smelled in there like stale smoke. Fortunately, the weather was comfortable, so we left the window open during the entire stay. Breakfast was OK, the hot tub jets didn't work, the guest computer was broken. Overall, we have really good stays with AmericInn's, we won't stay at this again until they update it.

Paul, so sorry that you were not fully satisfied during your stay. As for the updating, I agree - updates are needed and this fall we start on our interior! The building has not been a smoking building for several years, I am sorry that you had a stale smoke smell. As you know, we do police the rooms for anyone currently smoking in them and thoroughly clean them as we find it. In this instance, we will put the room out of service and deep clean it before anyone else has a bad experience. We also could have moved your room to make it more comfortable for you. Please, watch for our updates and give us a second chance to show you updates!

We were in town for a celebration of life. Upon checking in to our room and returning after a quick shopping trip, I found an envelope taped to my door. It was a sympathy card from the manager. It was unexpected and truly the most kind thing I'd ever expect from a chain hotel.

Expedia's reservation was a joke. I did not get adjoining rooms, which i paid $30 to Expedia. The hotel didn't get this information. Due to sudden illness ( hand, fot and mouth disease) 5 members of the party couldn't come as they were contagious. I asked for a refund on the 2nd room.the hotel says tha Expedia is to reim urse me and gave me the paperwork.

With the situation at hand, we on property, did refund the 30 adjoining room fee as well as we voided the charges for the second room with no cancellation fees. Please, reach out to Expedia to obtain a refund from them on that room. They should call us to verify the situation and that we in fact did do as we told you we did. On our end, we did all that we could. The only charges we took were for the room you actually stayed in. Please, if you have further issues, reach out to me directly at the property.

Mary, we appreciate your feedback. I apologize if you feel our breakfast is down too early. Monday through Friday we are open 5A to 9A and Saturday/Sunday we are open 6A to 10A. If persons are eating, we stay open do remain open longer. As for our facility being dingy, we are not brand new, we take steps forward each day to present it better and better. Our hope is you will stop and stay again so that you can see first hand our continuous changes.

We were very pleasantly surprised at how great our stay was for 4 nights. We needed to stay in town close to family for convenience and had looked at other options, settling for the hotel since it was on short notice. The lobby and room were very clean, the staff was extremely kind and helpful, breakfast had many options, my kids enjoyed the pool and us adults the sauna and hot tub, and the lobby was very quaint. It appears the hotel has gone through some improvements in my opinion. My only cons are that the carpet is still in need of replacing, no elevator for a heavy suitcase to the second floor, and the hot tub didn't have bubbles, just heat. We would definitely stay here again!

The staff needs to lay off the drugs. Disappointing when you can’t hold a brief conversation with someone and their eyes won’t stay open. Very apparent.

Property needs updates. Mattress was uncontrollable, pillows were hard and lumpy, carpet is dirty and needs cleaning or replacing! No jet's working in the hot tub. I've stayed here many times over the years and this property has really gone downhill! Staff is excellent though!

We appreciate your review. Although we are a work in progress on improvements, we like to see where we are strong and where we need improvement. The hot tub is hot - which is an improvement. Unfortunately, the jets are not working as bubble ones, only water jets at this time. There is a plan to move forward on repairing those. Carpets do have a lot of miles on them but they are clean! We will continue to have black tea available for you during your visits and with the continued move forward on making each guest experience better and better; we look forward to the next time you are in Park Rapids!

Property has gone down hill significantly. Dirty, carpet in main lobby and steps not vacuumed, bathroom floor grossly dirty. We’ve been coming here for years and this is the worst I’ve seen it.
