“Great place for exploring Waimea Canyon”
Great place to stay.
“Am already planning next stay.”
The most pleasant place I've stayed at in Hawaii. Great service & the cottages were real, not the plastic glitz of a resort.
“Simply my favorite”
If you're looking for someplace away from the typical touristy areas, this is the place to be. Cottages are comfortable and provide for a relaxing stay. Got a few mosquito bites but it's a small price to pay considering the beauty of Kauai. Look forward to staying here again.
“Serenity in paradise”
The Waimea Plantation Cottages were wonderful. We wanted a nice quiet vacation and this is the perfect place for that. The cottages are separated enough so you have your privacy, can enjoy the deck, the beach or just walk around the property under wonderful banyan trees. The birds, chickens and geckos are everywhere. I loved falling asleep to the waves crashing on shore. They maintain the grounds very well.
“Stay away - leave it all for me.”
The cottages are a wonderful place to stay. Not particularly fancy or upscale resort, but comfortable and homey in a beautiful non-touristy environment. I can't imagine staying any where else. The resort also has wonderful restaurant!
“Great!”
I loved the relaxing pace and walking along the black sand beach. If you want a true Hawaiian get away this is the place. The restaurant on the premises was great in quality, quanity and price as well. The staff were very attentive to our needs. I hope to go back, but will stay longer next time.
“Great place to stay”
We had a wonderful stay at Waimea Plantation Cottages. It is quiet and off the beaten path. Not as populated as the south shore area which was great. Service was great. We plan to take the whole family back soon!
“loved it!”
This place is beautiful. Doesn't have A/C, don't know why I was shocked with that. The windows all open and a beautiful breeze comes in at night. A little hot in the afternoon if you are staying in-room. Definately got a great price on expedia vs. what the hotel says they charge.
“Beautiful romantic getaway!”
What a beautiful place this was! Rustic, but quiet and scenic. The sight and sound of the surf right oustide our door was perfect for our romantic getaway. I've never seen such a lovely setting. The roosters crowed at all hours, but that didn't bother us. The bed was hard, and the fixtures old, but if we'd wanted a modern hotel, we'd have stayed elsewhere. All in all, this is really a wonderful, romatic place to stay.
“Kauai's Secret Gem - Will definitely revisit!”
We stayed 4 nights here, and 4 nights at the Westin of Princeville. We look forward to returning to the Aston Waimea Cottages! Everything about our stay there was just perfect. Each morning we would get up early and walk along the beach, and through the plantation gardens - it was incredibly beautiful in the early hours! And, sunset is no worse! The cottages are super cute, too - a bit aged, but in good shape. There were journals from previous guests - many of whom were even locals, looking for a get-a-way from the rat race of the north and east shores. Fresh bananas and mangos grow outside your window. You can hear the waves gently breaking softly. The location is too perfect for exploring the canyon. Great place to see Polihale at sunset, too! Gotta try the Macadamia Nut pancakes with Vanilla Bean syrup from the hotel's restaurant - to die for! And Jo-Jo's shaved ice in the town of Waimea, and the melt-in-your mouth coconut macaroons from the Kauai Granola Company, too! This is the sort of place you go to when you want solitude with somebody you love. We can't wait to return!
