“Great location away from traffic”
This is a great place to stay if you're wanting downtown, but don't want the congestion of downtown traffic. Just stay on I35 across the bridgeand take the first exit. The motel is directly across the river from the Texas Ranger Museum and a great restaurant, Buzzard Billy's is very conveniently located right across the road. A great find for a Waco stay.
“Hotel Waco = Waco Ramada”
Room was clean, tho dated. Obviously well worn furniture, including a beat up mini fridge & peeling tubs. The king room was nicer than the double, imo. Easy to find just off the I-35, but not much of a walkable neighborhood around it to speak of. as of june 2011 there existed some confusion when trying to call the hotel. the number I had for hotel waco was disconnected, when I called ramada number on my room key (there are signs posted saying "now owned/operated by ramada) they had no listing for a hotel in waco. kinda wacko. decent nights sleep for the discounted price i paid.
“Extras were not up to par”
We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and it seems as though the rooms are not being kept up the way they should. Our refridgerator door would not stay shut tight so nothing was staying cold. The internet was down for our entire stay. The desk clerk said that it was due to the storm but that was the second night of our stay. The internet was out the first night also. The breakfast that they offer leaves something to be desired. The items were over cooked and the coffee was served in styroform cups. Ramada has taken over this hotel and I hope that they will make some much needed improvements.
