“Amazing”
Everything was more than expected, the staff, the room, the pool, the view, everything was amazing. We decided on Vieques for our honeymoon because it was different, unknown, and not a tourist trap. Inn on the Blue Horizon was exactly what we wanted and more. It wasn't crowded or over-fancy, just everything you need. The restaurant was fantastic, amazing food without ridiculous touristy prices. The bar was great with an excellent staff and amazing drinks. We stayed in Isabella... we're going to name our first girl after her! If you're looking for a serene, simple, romantic spot this is the place.
“Just awesome”
The hotel was awesome. Much more than we expected. I cant wait to go there again. Everything was great with exception of food service. It took a long time to get our food out while we were waiting in the bar area.
“Very nice place”
If I move to Vieques, I want to live in this hotel.
“Great Time at Inn on the Blue Horizon”
Adam, Yamile, Evie, Eddy, Randall and others on the staff made us feel "at home" in beautiful, welcoming surroundings. Great time for my wife/my celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary.
“Vieques Blue Horizon holiday”
A very picturesque location with great pool. No swimming beach but OK for walking. Away from town so need transportation i.e rental car. Beautiful island and great people.
“Our review of a kept secret in Vieques.”
Probably best hotel in Vieques. Excellent restaurant. One of the few that opens all year around. Our room was nicely decorated but its bed was awful, old sweaking spring and mattress! Sunsets at the beach with a cold bottle of bubbly was awesome... Still somewhat expensive... Beach not available in premises. Need a car to go to Sun Bay... Fine restaurants in Vieques. Need a car. As a matter of fact a car is always needed in Vieques. Good taxi service from and to the airport. Vieques can be reached by plane from SJU (30 minutes) and JAT in Ceiba (10 minutes). It can also be reached by public ferry transportation from Fajardo. NEVER TRY IT!
“Tropical Paradise”
The Inn on the Blue Horizon is situated in a tropical paradise, near the beautiful little town of Esperanza, with wild horses grazing nearby and many blooming tropical trees. The food at the restaurant is excellent, and the bar is great. The adjacent beach is deserted and full of shells, with crystal clear water and reefs just offshore. The hotel pool is beautiful. Hotel Office staff and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and the grounds are not as superb, with areas near the rooms left unmowed and maid service, rather random. The phone did not work, and there were occasional problems (remedied fairly quickly) with water and electricity. All said, the quiet, the beautiful setting, the food and drink, and the gorgeous view of the Caribbean Sea and Esperanza Harbot made this a very pleasant and refreshing stay.
“Really relax with Nature”
Great view, a different experience
“Romantic get-away”
The hotel was beautiful with a great view overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed swimming in the pool at night. The water was warm and we could see a million stars in the sky. The hotel was very quiet and we only occasionally saw any other guests, but that's exactly what we were looking for. It's more for adults than kids. The staff was very accomodating and Adam, at the bar, was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and/or drinks there almost every night. The food was excellent and not too expensive although the dinner menu is limited to about 5 or 6 appetizers and 5 or 6 entrees. But everything we tried was wonderful. They only serve breakfast and dinner - no lunch. It would have been nice if they served some bar food at night when we didn't want to eat a full dinner. The hotel is decorated beautifully and the room was very romantic with the four poster bed. The landscaping could use some weeding though. The town is only a few minutes away by car and very active on Saturday night! We rented a jeep and had fun exploring the island. There were a couple of sights to see, like the fort, but virtually no shopping. Horses are everywhere on the island, even in the towns, so watch where you walk! (That wasn't a problem at the hotel.) If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and romantic place to stay this is it.
“Loved the infiniti pool, the outdoor living room, and the bungalow.”
My husband and I took my father there for his 60th birthday and believe this was the best experience ever. The hotel was what an island hotel should be. No casinos. No overpriced bars. No screaming bratty upper middle class kids from the suburbs. Just complete natural quiet, island comforts, and days without a schedule. Our room was always squeeky clean. The bed was comfortable. And we LOVED the fact that they ask you to turn off your AC, fans, and lights to help conserve on energy.
