I stayed here the night before an incredibly important job interview. Huge mistake. After I had been asleep for a couple of hours it became apparent that the door to my room would loudly slam whenever someone entered their room or the elevator door opened (a vacuum was created, I assume). At about 5am I tried to prop the door tightly with a chair and towel, but it was still far too loud in the room. You could hear conversations as if the people were right in the room with you.
The hotel is located in one of the seedier areas I have seen in the German speaking countries, several dance clubs and dive bars, including a couple with 'women in the window.' The street the hotel is located on is particularly desolate at night and for the first time in Germany or Austria, I felt unsafe. Also, the hotel is quite a hike from the nearest train stations, at least a 15 minute walk, and it took me nearly 25 minutes to hail a cab when I was leaving.
That being said, the staff was very friendly and the room was spotless and had fairly modern fixtures, it was quite nice for the price. If you can sleep through anything, the price may be right for you.
